I don't see the Emmitt Smith Picks his Nose (ESPN) sign that the UF coach ripped down after the game? I was there baby, and was back for the game versus the Turds!!!!
I played ball against Emmit in 85' I was a LB and he pretty much knocked me down and stepped on my arm and ran to the endzone, good times? Emmit had the best field awarness of anyone I ever saw play.
It came down to Auburn and UF out of high school for Emmitt. If he had chosen Auburn he would probably won a Heisman and Auburn would have won either the '88 or '89 national title or both. He went to UF at the wrong time.
@BigD1116 The bad call kinda did give you the game. But at the same time we should of held on to the lead, D shoulda stepped up and played better, O shoulda played better, All shoulda coulda wouldas! etc. Could go on and on and on. but Aub won the game end of story. so i some what agree one call didnt give you the game. but i thank Aub for giving us that loss cause it led to a NC.
die hard gator fan here. this was truly a heartbreaking loss for us. auburn has our number for some reason or another. but i must say, it's fucked up that every blames auburn for not making it to the NC in 04. auburn deserved to go. it's because of the fact the the bcs voters are all over usc's ball sack every chance they get. they almost fucked us out of the NC in 06. thank God for ucla. but auburn got royally fucked in 04.
I was at that game too. Wasden was in my History class at Auburn. I thanked him. My whole family came up from Fla to watch the game and I sat in the FLA section. The pass was right in front of us in the corner end zone. I ran out of the stadium immediately.
I was at that game. It was my 2nd year at Auburn and it is the most memorable game ever. I remember the electricity, the pass, the 'I'll lay out for the TD' catch by Wasden, running out of the stadium to buy my post-game score card which I still have.
Why do our best players always cry on camera?

I'm sure Peyton Manning had a very similar feeling. 0-4 vs gators.

add Tim Tebow and Chris Leak to the bunch

One bad call didnt give us the game. You had the worst kicker in the SEC that year. It would have been a stretch to say he would have made it anyway.

Or in 2001?? , Or in 1993 on probation beat florida???, Or in 1994 at the swamp?, 2006?, 2007 on two field goal attempts to win it??
Get a undefeated season then talk sh*t.
SFFOOL76 2 years ago
He could have stayed for the 1990 season, so I don't feel that bad for him.

Bigger than the #1 vs #4 in the swamp in 1994, Or the #2 vs #11 in Auburn in 2006?

Emmitt was probably thinking, "I'll use this as motivation to become the greatest running back in NFL history." And it happened.

we won the west in 2004, 2000, and alot of years before that.

Now just imagine what Auburn would've been like those years if Emmitt had gone there instead...

Emmitt no doubt used moments like that as motivation to rewrite the NFL record book.

ehh i think 3 super bowls, an MVP, super bowl mvp, leading rusher in yards and Tds and 4 rushing titles made up for this.

@derrville Yeah considering the fact that for three strait seasons he only scored one touchdown against auburn
