I'm a newbie in the fire-fighting, but I also think it is a Flashover. The movement of the smoke just before the "explosion" draws "roll-over", which is typic from flashovers. The explosion is weird though, I thought you'd be seeing flames on the smoke before it flashes everything ?
im an fire fighter from nj & that was an flashover not an backdraft you guys gotta look at the smoke indications majority of the time if there is smoke pouring out like that it's a flashover and if the smoke was breatheing so to speak being sucked in and out of small opening like the bottom of a door that my friend is an Backdraft
The truck was so close because it is a bitch dragging a charged hose line. all my fire gear plus air pack weigh about 60 to 70 pounds. add in a hundred feet of 2.5 hose line add you are carrying about a hundred pounds on you.
its not a flashover... its a backdraft.

Flashover, rolling somke high volume being pushed out. Fire is vented. FLASHOVER NOT BACKDRAFT.

Flash over? huh.........I would have to say a backdraft but to each his own...... Agree to disagree.

Everybody survived and they are ok. The truck was that close because the size of the street and because there were other trucks.
