I have great vision at night too, always have squinted through the day. But it's simply just that the iris doesn't absorb hardly any of the violet/blue light which makes it difficult to see throughout the day, even with light being reflected off concrete, through a window or even that window just reflecting. (it doesn't even need to be visible for an irritation and cause my eyes to squint.)
