Islam was and still is compatibale with the west don't forget it is the great Islamic civilisation in Europe that gave life to what we call today's civilised Europe.Without the contributions of the Muslims in Spain the place we call Europe today wouldn't be the same ;)

The main trouble Islam will have in my country (uk) is all the Arabic, nothing against that language but if we look at our schools, every one of them teaches French and most teach German, have done for decades, now you go out in the streets of a town and start talking in French to people, it will be a miracle if you find any type of conversation.

Languages and us go together like milk and oil.

you know, in the uk, it's not "all the arabic" so much as it is "all the urdu" or bengali. arabic is only used in the ritual prayers and reciting quran. there is a wisdom in that - notice there aren't a 1000 versions of the quran. imams need to speak english well - that's the main trouble in uk.

Alhamdulillah this man saved me from an identity crisis which was aided by being a new muslim isolated from previous non-muslim social circles and non-acceptance from the dominant ethinic group that practices islam in my city.
