  • why do asians always wanna be fast at everything

  • asian, of course...

  • Incredible technique mate, great hand speed. single strokes has always been a bugbear for me. great video, thanx.

  • Outstanding.... any help on how u practiced to get your single strokes to that level? That's very impressive. You've obviously been doing something right when you practice.

  • Very nice. thumbs up!

  • HOLY SHIT I WISH I COULD DO THIS D: you are outstanding

  • Bruce Lee on drum

  • I'm not into the drummer "scene" so I don't know any techniques' names, but even though I use this technique myself (still not nearly as accurate), it was something that started empirically...

Anyway, Joseph, that's brilliant and considering it's been 2,5 years you are probably 2,5 times as better.

I found this video yesterday and was able to understand the technique better, so.. kamsahamnida...

Oh and you really looked like Lee Chungyong when you first showed your face

  • stupid instead to cheat learn really to drum kiddy

  • @MrDrumclown in what way is he cheating? clean single stroke rolls all over the kit is cheating? i wish i was a cheater then!

  • @MrDrumclown listen pal, i just visited your channel and watched you drumming. I really do not know how you have the gut's to slag off this guy's SHIT HOT, MINDBOGGLINGLY QUICK moeller technique when i've seen 10 year olds better than you. be constructive or piss off. confidence can be the difference between a great drummer or an awful drummer. so, let's see a video of your single stroke roll as a video response to this.........SHOW US ALL HOW IT'S DONE!!!!

  • @SuperFelatio Yes, I agree. Thanks :))

  • no me gusta caer en el stereotipo pero xq siempre los asiaticos son como maquinas??

  • @frnnd200992 euh? what did you say? can you repeat it in English?

  • @josephroh he said he dont like to stereotype but why are asians like machines.... which i dont get what hes trying to say lol

  • @adrher1 Thanks man!! :))) Yeah that's what I want to know too lol

  • @josephroh he said he doesnt like stereotypes but why are asians like machines. hope that helped

  • @therealTOTOfan Thank you! :)) It really helped. I don't get what he meant though! haha.

  • @frnnd200992 porke como machinas?

  • Thanks for this... I have been trying to figure it out for a while now and your demo really nails the essence of it.

  • @MrRonkidd Good to hear that this one helped you out a bit!! I still need more practice on my left hand.. Let's practice drums more and more!! Haha

  • Excellent!!!!

  • fucking asians once again!

  • yao ming on drums

  • "I wanna share my single technique (...)", then thanks for sharing! :D Nice video.

  • ORIGINAL STYLE OF PLAYING,much beter than the most drummers i now.

  • very nice work...... thanks for the demo

  • thats impressive, especially with the left hand.

  • Very sick.

  • Excellent. Well done. But don't forget this is meaningless crap musically. Playing fast around the drums has little to do with propelling a band of whatever kind.

  • @sckvevrbdy yeah true but i personally think there are some incidents that i can use this fast stroke in accordance with musical contexts , esp. in jazz or funky music. but yeah it is true that this tech is not necessarily needed for most of songs. wel lets say im more interested in drummin techniques than in grooves. anway thanks for ur comment!

  • @sckvevrbdy playing at your speed doesn't help either

  • @sckvevrbdy Yea you're right, we don't need anyone who's any more musically talented than Disturbd or Papa Roach or any of the shit they play on the radio now.

If you can't appreciate what this guy is doing and the time and effort it takes to get THIS GOOD at anything than obviously you've never worked that hard yourself and you probably don't have the stones to pull it off.

What a stupid, mindless, retarded and short sighted comment.

  • @sckvevrbdy Depends on the complexity of said music/band.

  • @sckvevrbdy never underestimate this stuff. not only does it build speed, it builds stamina allowing a drummer to play longer and more relaxed. Besides, I've played plenty of songs at a 180 bpm tempo, would u really want to play a song that fast when u could only play 180 bpm? U'd want to be able to play 200 or more so that 180 would be comfortable instead of at the very edge of your ability.

  • @sckvevrbdy can you do it?

  • @sckvevrbdy IM SICK OF HEARING THAT!!!!!!! IF GUITARISTS CAN SHRED AND PIANISTS CAN GO CRAZY ON THE KEYS THEN WHY CANT DRUMMERS PLAY FAST!? god, that fucking mentality that if the drums are technical or fast then they are shit is way to common. i get that it is good to put what fits to a tune but what fits isnt always sum slow straight beat.

  • @sckvevrbdy blast beats...in metal...one of the most popular genres worldwide...thats the second most popular method...you suck dude

  • @sckvevrbdy One will also never be a good drummer if one doesn't know fundamentals. Without fundamentals one will never endure, or be great. To be professional and help your band be the best they can be you must be an exceptional drummer. To be an exceptional drummer. one must know fundamentals. The MOELLER technique is a fundamental that not only helps produce a great tone out of your drum but it also helps one to be efficient, and endure.

  • It's hard to play fast and be relaxed huh? If you practice for an extended amount of time on a surface that has no rebound you will improve your speed. Make sure it's a comfortable speed to not strain yourself.

  • hey i was wondering when you put the two hands together are they alternating or triple stroke roll ? im confused would appreciate some help thanks

  • @julianisdope oh at that time i got both hands alternated one by one like R L r l r l R L r l r l ... thats it! so its like typical single stroke roll

  • You don't look stiff - you just look determined and skilled. Your rhythm is fast, solid and on the tick. Keep it up, bro!

  • very nice i'd learn what i was missing Thank you.

  • and how does this teach me how to do a roll

  • Replace that snare head! You will even have cleaner rolls after that. Good video! Personally fast chops are not what make music happen but they sure impress other drummers and musicians. Yours are very clean!

  • amazing man.... what do you use?, just wrist?, fingers? rebound?

  • @MidnightRequiem7 Thanks! mm i think i can get better speed if i try to use fingers only, but that way it might be hard to bang on around the tomtoms wi thick sound so i try to use wrist as much as possible for tomtoms. but it might be not bad to use only fingers for strokes on the snare like im doin in this shot.

  • @josephroh so, you use just wrist?... or rebound too?... I do not know how to play faster

  • @MidnightRequiem7 practice with a metronome at a speed u can play relaxed at with proper technique for a few minutes (like 5 minutes or so). When u feel ready, increase the metronome by 5 bpm and no more. What this will do is allow u to build up speed in a relaxed way instead of just trying to concentrate and race. It will take time, don't be in a hurry.

  • @Groovemaster2k thanks man, but... I must to play with fingers?, wrist or just rebound?... help

  • @MidnightRequiem7 ur gonna want to practice all of it. Good technique always uses rebound. Fingers are the fastest but least amount of power, then wrists then arms. I would practice using all three but the fingers will give the most speed. One reason I recommend practicing with arms too is the faster your arms move, the faster u'll be able to get around the drumset. Too many people have lightning fast technique when they play on the snare, but it falls apart when they try to use other drums

  • what a stroke ..... hoooo...

  • pretty good! I practice the moeller-technique but i cant play with it over the whole drumkit :( Just on the Snare...

  • @Dorsch123 well me too! its not easy for me too!

  • nice speed dude!

  • I agree. No doubt you're a beast with the technique you are using but moeller is all about being relaxed and you look far from that! Still, good stuff!

  • The groupings are a series of six notes correct?

  • @webstercat yeah thats right. on the snare, I tried to play triplets like RLrlrl RLrlrl ... but i changed it into eight notes on tomtoms

  • may talent ka. sali ka sa pilipinas got talent. ehehehe

  • playing very fast, but you look really stiff while doing it

    all in all nice job

  • @v2097 yeah thats true! thanks for your comment ;) i need to keep working on it

  • Nice Work Josephroh

  • i never knew jackie chan can play drums

  • @paking03 That's extremely racist!! So is the Bruce Lee comment! I guess twelve people who married a relative liked it though...

  • @paking03

Nah... he looks more like Bruce. Jackie is a little more pudgy.

  • well done

  • When both hands are going, is each hand still hitting the drum 3 times before they switch??

  • @alloneword154 oh, when both hands are goin together its like RLrlrlRLrlrlRLrlrl... i mean two hands are mixed up constantly at the same speed

  • So, it's kind of like accented singles?

  • @josephroh so, like triplets?

  • @MrYeswecan14 euh? well i did perform triplets until the focus got zoomed out.

  • @josephroh i mean when you put both hands together what exactly do you play? ;p

  • @MrYeswecan14 Oh what i am doin is, first, Rrr Rrr Rrr.. Lll Lll Lll.. separately and put those strokes together like RLrlrl Rlrlrl while trying to maintain same speed as before

  • @josephroh thats what im talkin about man greets from cyprus :)

  • Good!

  • NIIIIIIICE!! :-) good work soldier :-) any more vids?

  • Kool...Thanx for posting the vid!!

  • fucking incredible

  • i cant get this i think it takes twice as much energy o_o

  • hi, great stuff,

hey could u post one for 16ths if possible?

i am familiar with the triplet feel, but 4's would be most helpful.

    thanx

  • sick! i wish my left hand would listen so i could learn this crap

  • Your technique is great and all, but could you explain it? Thanks.

  • Great job dude. Down-Tap-Up triplet

  • Very good job.

But if you play in matched grip you go faster on drum kit.

  • Theres a video with Buddy Rich saying that the match grip not good

I cannot believe he said tht

  • If Rich said that, then it's true.

But as you certainly know, matched grip is more easy to control, and that helps when you play on many drums or on a large kit, it is more direct, instinctive.

In my opinion traditional is far better when left hand is on the snare and the right hand leads.

More, I was refering to your clip, your are rolling up and down the kit, in that exercise (and many others) matched grip works better.

  • TYSM I use both grips

    DRUMMERS RULE

  • Yeh great, but aren't you meant to show us how to do it?!?!?!?!?!

  • hm, i guess he wasnt teaching the technique, he was showing the technique lol. still appreciated

  • it looks abit sped up at the end.. hmm... ;)

  • lol nah it looks real time to me.

  • yeah if it was sped up it usually gets higher pitched and the toms and snare sound good so yeah. beast

  • film another one using these same stokes musically...

  • someone sounds jealous that they cant play as fast. Its ok tho buddy, because u can play it much slower and more musically!

  • that's not what i meant silly. it was a suggestion because i'd love to see it in a musical context. of course "drumnastics" are an accomplishment in and of themselves, but don't you think it'd be cool to see it with musical accompaniment??? music is not a competition for me. i'm sure you're a great drummer. take it easy though...

  • My bad then, i saw ur comment and thought u were commin at this kid. I get so frusterated at all the people who go around postin neg. shit on youtube... i guess i took it out on the wrong person this time haha, sorry man!

  • no worries...

  • Great job man!

  • well actually i filmed this shot not that seriously you know or some kind of experiment all i wanted to see was what it would look like or sound like if i exert the highest speed of my stroke as much as i can on the drum set. so yeah fair enough, that does seem to be a bit too much tense and less relaxed. but i just wanted to see my playing generally in that speed. im still under the process of developing my tech, you know. i enjoy watching buddy rich and try to learn his motions. yeah i did

  • It's probably his camera.
