@drumstyx6464 I was trying to figure this out all day. I'm pretty sure it's: 1 measure of 8/8, 1 measure of 9/8, then 4 measures of 9/16 (the trippy, off-sounding part). I could DEFINITELY be overthinking it - it could just be that they're playing in 9 and extending the beat every-so-slightly (basically, a sixteenth note)

But doing it for the sake of doing it just produces jumbled nonsense. And when you take a known song with a normal rhythm and mush it all up like this, it begs the question, "What's the point?" It's just people trying to be cool and weird for weird's sake. I'm sure there will always be an audience for that, but to me the emperor is naked.

@JohnFruscianteSVK When Paul Desmond wrote "Take Five", he didn't just take some song and add another beat to it. Real innovation is harder. And of COURSE this is all my opinion...is it necessary to start off EVERY sentence with "in my opinion" just to placate those who jump to cliched arguments (like the old people with metal)? Look, you ever heard of a band called Battles? GREAT stuff with strange syncopation, disharmony, etc. And I love them. This just doesn't work for me. It's masturbation.
