@hhu0101 grout is the stuff between tiles in a bathroom.  Sealent protects a critter from the chemicals underneath.

Is there a specific reason silicon is used to glue the pieces together instead of hot glue, or just personal preference?

@biggoofybastard he uses grout to glue the pieces together, silicon is what he uses to seal the places that will be filled with water. He uses grout because it is very strong and water/humidity proof. It's what they use to seal tiles like in bathrooms. Hot Glue is very weak, especially when you try to glue pieces of foam together.

Awesome, but I've been looking all day for an easy way to make a rock wall in the background, like a textured wall with rocks sticking out of it, without actually using rocks. It's for my soon to be baby tegu, I'm getting a head start on his awesome adult cage.

One question, what is the exact type of sealant you use? I have several hides I want to make for some high humidity animals so I need a good water sealant. For my leos I was planning on using the modge podge stuff.

How do these hides and projects hold up to heat? Can u have them under a heating element?
