lol you don't seem to get how loyalty works. If you get angry with someone and have a fight with them, it is not disloyal to walk away from them. Disloyalty would be breaking a friend's trust or abandoning them to save your own skin. Ron left in GOF and in DH because he and Harry were feuding. He didn't chicken out on either occasion. You can call him jealous, or a hothead, but he's not disloyal. Ever notice how Ron does homework a lot less than Harry but still gets the same grades? read ootp.

Harry was banned from Quidditch and used that time to study. Ron did not. And yet, Harry only got one better mark on a bonus point because he was able to do a Patronus, even though we already knew that Ron could do so at that point in the books. Ron can play chess because he's intelligent. He has a knack for knowing what is needed in a situation the most. He comforts Hermione and Harry doesn't(it explicitly states in DH that he did not bother to comfort Hermione after Ron left)

The DADA skills which he got in private lessons because of who he is, the potions book he found by chance that Ron easily could have picked up instead, and the nimbus 2000 given to him as a special exception that no first-year had been given before. Ron is loyal because it is NOT his destiny to fight Voldemort. He was protected by his pureblood status and still chose to fight alongside Harry.
