  • I would like to get a video recording of this. Where can I?

  • @redriverhautbois Sorry, but Seattle Opera is not (yet, we hope!) in the business of video or audio recordings of complete operas. Instead please listen to our online opera channel at king.org/pages/4351272.php, which broadcasts each Seattle Opera production.

  • There is some wonderful singing here, but Forbis? Give me a break. The voice is unattractive to say the least and it is all back in his throat. He sings with so much tension and out of the left side of his mouth (remember Scotto did this near the end of her career - didn't work for her either!). The voice is just all wrong. But he looks the part and I guess that's what passes these days. But I remember hearing some of the truly great heldontenors. Vickers, Vinay, Heppner, etc.

  • Greer Grimsley is the bomb. He just gets better and better.

  • Greer looked and sounded top notch, as always.

  • ahh Greer has been like a second father to me i love to see his talent being displayed on youtube! he is an amazingly talented man

  • I rather prefer Margaret Jane Wray's voice...to Persson's...

  • What hideous outfit....cords and so much RED. ghastly....

  • Anything is better than any Karajan Wagner!

  • THE BEST TRISTAN AND ISOLDE IN DECADE, THE CONDUCTING WAS SUBLIME, BETTER THAN BERNSTEIN, BOHM, AND KARAJAN, AND THE SINGING IS WORLD CLASS....ALL CAST PERFORMED WELL, AND BEST PART IS, AFTER 4 HRS, ISOLDE HAD GREAT STAMINA TO SING THE LIEBESTOD....THIS PERFORMANCE IS PRICELESS
