lots of horsepower is NOT required for drifting. you're overlooking the technique portion of where it originates from. all you powerheads only know how to punch the throttle, not control it. it makes me sad. go nascar, you'll feel @ home.

drifting's used not as show but also, it's the fastest way to turn a corner. if u hit the apex while doing a high speed drift, ur cornering's unbeatable. but drifting wastes so much money, if somebody drifts, it means they're rich

Drifting is all about style and showing off, completely different from racing. If it makes you faster to drift, then you're racing technique is seriously flawed. But IMO, drifting>racing anyday. The excitement is so much greater, and it's an awesome sport to watch.
