@OcarinaBrothers If u absolutely need an android right now, i would go only 4 Androids with next gen SnapDragon, or Hummingbird. I had a Nexus One a couple weeks ago, rooted, with a speedy rom. Even with that, I found it to be slower then androids with these newer processors. Plus, it has a weaker GPU. So G2, Mytouch 4G(my current phone), Nexus S or a Galaxy Phone(rooted with a custom 2.2 or 2.3 rom) are the best currently. But soon they r gonna be replaced, so if u can wait it's prolly worth it

You review is very helpful, I just switched from a Moto Droid to the N1. At first I thought you were dead right about the lack of responsiveness in 4 buttons at the bottom of the screen..but after playing with it I think the sensor is just higher than it should be, if you'll lightly touch the top half of the button, were your finger is almost on the screen...it responds every time.

@Mikedude97 Yeah I got the 2.1 update for the Droid on thrusday. It doesnt get anymore screens (stays at 3) but gets that speek to txt feature pinch to zoom and that new gallery with a 3D-ish feel. Also the music app gets a makeover.
@slucmyclock22 At the Android Market download Helix Launcher, not Helix Launcher 2, it is only for the Nexus One and if you download it, it will go crazy. Run the Helix Launcher and you will have a option to put between 1-7 Home Screens and the app list similar to the Nexus One's but not 3D but it's black like it.
I just got the N1 at&t3g 3days ago, I switched from jailbroke iPhone 3gs, and I have to say I like the N1 a whole lot better, so much faster on 3g and edge network. The new iPhone coming in June better be awesome to make me switch back.

I got the droid for two reasons; physical qwerty KB (I can't stand on screen KB's), and the Verizon network. Keep in mind all, that the Android 2.1 OS has a big speed boost in the web browser, so that difference you see in this video will be non-existent, or possibly even the Droid being faster.
Great video! Most of the other ones I've seen all disregard the fact that the Droid will be receiving a 2.1 upgrade and compare the phones only on different OS features (despite them running the same OS haha). Very objective, did a good job testing pros and cons of each.

Your thinking about it in a box type way, sure if your loading one page for the whole time you have the phone 2 seconds sure whatever don't need it. But if you browse over 1000 pages per day 1000*2 = 2000/60 that's an extra 33 minutes of wait time you get with the droid than rather the Nexus one. But my brother has the droid and it's awesome, I'm trying to buy on aswel.

i have the motorola droid for verizon wireless. yeah its a good phone but verizons bill cost way too much with wat they offer i am soon switching to T-mobile and going to get the Nexus One. They have better plans. the plus for the droid is the keboard though. i do not like how you do not have a send or end button on the actual phone. if water touches it then the screen will start actin funny and is hard to unlock the phone and answer calls
good review. With the Nexus 1 Coming the the Verizon network on March 23 it makes the head to head even harder to compare. That 16GB card really makes up for the Droids coming short in some spots. Bad thing about the Droid is its big, and im not sure if I want that in my pocket.

If you switch service of the "Google, Nexus one", to something other than T-Mobile, you cannot get 3g Internet service. But in a few months, Verizon will be available soon.

and with the whole heat sensed buttons, i own a Nexus, and ive had NO problems pushing them, because, for one, i dont use my FINGER TIPS, like EVERYONE seems to be doing, theres not much heat there people, use the area under your damn nails! seriously! lol! come on!!

You review is very helpful, I just switched from a Moto Droid to the N1. At first I thought you were dead right about the lack of responsiveness in 4 buttons at the bottom of the screen..but after playing with it I think the sensor is just higher than it should be, if you'll lightly touch the top half of the button, were your finger is almost on the screen...it responds every time.

@PokeSenseiTbone coming from a blackberry the keyboard on the droid was worthless. So if i don't use the keyboard then I would MUCH prefer the form factor of the N1...and really..in no way is the droid better than the N1...its just alot more expensive...are the added features of the N1 worth the additional cost? that would relative to one's disposable income. Looking forward to your next extremely intelligent post.

@Mikedude97 Yeah I got the 2.1 update for the Droid on thrusday. It doesnt get anymore screens (stays at 3) but gets that speek to txt feature pinch to zoom and that new gallery with a 3D-ish feel. Also the music app gets a makeover.

@slucmyclock22 At the Android Market download Helix Launcher, not Helix Launcher 2, it is only for the Nexus One and if you download it, it will go crazy. Run the Helix Launcher and you will have a option to put between 1-7 Home Screens and the app list similar to the Nexus One's but not 3D but it's black like it.

I just got my N1 at&t 3g 3 days ago, I switched from jailbroken iPhone 3gs and N1 is so much faster than iPhone on 3g and edge, I don't regret it.

The Nexus One is still better for gaming than the DROID. DROID for some reason is even worse at gaming than the iPhone 3GS.
DROID does 22 million per second polygons, N1 does like 25 million per second polygons, 3GS does like 28 million per second polygons

I got the droid for two reasons; physical qwerty KB (I can't stand on screen KB's), and the Verizon network. Keep in mind all, that the Android 2.1 OS has a big speed boost in the web browser, so that difference you see in this video will be non-existent, or possibly even the Droid being faster.

Great video! Most of the other ones I've seen all disregard the fact that the Droid will be receiving a 2.1 upgrade and compare the phones only on different OS features (despite them running the same OS haha). Very objective, did a good job testing pros and cons of each.

Your thinking about it in a box type way, sure if your loading one page for the whole time you have the phone 2 seconds sure whatever don't need it. But if you browse over 1000 pages per day 1000*2 = 2000/60 that's an extra 33 minutes of wait time you get with the droid than rather the Nexus one. But my brother has the droid and it's awesome, I'm trying to buy on aswel.

i have the motorola droid for verizon wireless. yeah its a good phone but verizons bill cost way too much with wat they offer i am soon switching to T-mobile and going to get the Nexus One. They have better plans. the plus for the droid is the keboard though. i do not like how you do not have a send or end button on the actual phone. if water touches it then the screen will start actin funny and is hard to unlock the phone and answer calls

good review. With the Nexus 1 Coming the the Verizon network on March 23 it makes the head to head even harder to compare. That 16GB card really makes up for the Droids coming short in some spots. Bad thing about the Droid is its big, and im not sure if I want that in my pocket.

screw the n1 get the droid you will not find any difference in speed they are both fast as hell, but the huge difference is that u get 16GB WITH THE DROID and on4GB WITH THE N1. and to me the more memory the better

I heard the Droid has a better multitouch system. With a qwerty pad, it makes it much useful, but it seems like girls prefer sleeker designs like the Nexus.
I was wondering if the Nexus has the same options as the Droid (sliding mechanism for unlocking, and maybe even the wallpapers the Droid has). Also, it seems that the Nexus has a worse touch mechanism. Do you think it will improve by Verizon this Spring?

If you switch service of the "Google, Nexus one", to something other than T-Mobile, you cannot get 3g Internet service. But in a few months, Verizon will be available soon.

Ya im been looking forward to the Nexus going to Verizon as well. As far as I know the law suit will not effect the release date of the Nexus 1 to Verizon. Law suits happen all the time and its just a part of business. so I highly doubt it will effect the release of the N1 to Verizon.
