  • The questioner clearly has an anti-Iran agenda. Sickenning jingoism thinly veiled IMHO.

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist yeah, well, my answer to him would be sigh next question. hes not gonna change his mind with what chomsky said even though its well researched and totally sober.

  • @toyb0mb

I don't know if I would do that. Chomsky did a great job of exposing the guy's agenda by adopting the approach he did.

  • How elegantly Chommers swats the Zionist shill. Gotta love this man.

  • The reporters seem to resent and dislike the fact that Chomsky won't just answer a question as they command, but explain the situation as a whole for why he'll answer it a certain way. It's open discussion that journalists today aren't comfortable with. They prefer to ask questions, receive answers, and anyone watching the TV that doesn't understand what's going on will just have to remain ignorant.

  • @couscous66 Geek is only a pejorative term applied in order to discourage self thinking... ;)

  • that journalist represents almost the entire american media. fuckin dunce.

  • That journalist has no idea what Noam is talking about... for anyone who didn’t get it, he’s talking about the geopolitics of the social engineers controlling most western societies.

  • Perhaps that journalist was a newbie who's never heard of Chomsky before, because any other rational, experienced journalist would have seen that ownage coming.

  • @urcritic Not really. They are just not capable, or allowed to have an intelligent reality based perspective.

  • the journalist asking the questions is full of shit

  • @catalinaguerrero I just love the way Noam takes the reporter's idiotic and ignorant question and goes thru it like Grant went through Richmond...or Caesar through Gaul..I mean...was there a stone left unturned? The professor is a fount of knowledge that we will treasure for a long time to come.

  • @couscous66 so true. main reason i dont have cable anymore

  • Who's the military historian, I couldn't get his name. Help.

  • @Nades129 martin van creveld

  • What a di@# journalist? Who does he think he is talking to?

  • @couscous66 you are right on the mark here... this guy's 'geo-political' questions is so loaded and framed to produce a certain answer is ridiculous... it presupposes that Iran is a rouge state and much stronger security threat than either the US or Israel... so Chomsky just steps outside the box and tears apart his premise before saying "yeah... nobody should have nuclear weapons."

  • i wish i could carry chomsky around in my pocket so i can take him out to own dumb people

  • @thedelta88 Take pwnership for your pwn pwnings

  • Love Chomsky!

  • no one in thier right mind wants whitesupremacist rogue states to have nucler weapons. England, France , Germany, Russia,Spain, United States, Israel,Canada. whitesupremacist see self defense coming from a non white state as a terrorist threat.

  • @ 4.36 one, less eoloquent answer than Mr Chomsky has provided is, if Iran ever did get a nuclear weapon, they would have to be absolutely suicidal to actually do anything with it, because such action would result in immediate incineration. Despite the propaganda masquerading as news, Ahmadinejad is not a psycho, he's a politiican concerned with his own power an influence, and his influence is not served by being incinerated.

  • @TonyBananas101 take it further... Achmadinejad has ZERO executive power... whatever he wishes to do to Israel is irrelevant cause he isn't even close to the top of the government...

  • No sane person wants ANYBODY to have nuclear weapons! But its OK for the US to have them because we happen to live in the US [thumbs up]

  • that son of bitch journalist who overtalked chomsky, i want to beat the shit out of him

  • Chomsky for world emporer!!!!!!

  • Propagada Proof! FTW.

  • i want to strangle that kid that tried to overtalk chomsky

  • that "kid" is trying to make his money !! lol how can you be upset at someone employed by AIPAC ... he's just doing his job hhhh

  • What a cop out "im just doing my job"

  • lol sarcasm is the best.. i wish everyone can understand it

  • I actually would like chomsky for emperor. I think he's the most qualified...

  • ya he's one of my favorite intellectuals

  • chomsky smack-down yet again.

  • and who would govern the "international agency". for such an anticapitalist, he should know who founded the UN

  • You obviously are naive politically. Iran has been the victim of American foreign policy for decades; ever since their democratically elected government was overthrown via military coup. Israel's leading historian says that Iran would be insane not to develop nuclear weapons given the threat posed against them. Chomsky is a genius and as usual hits the nail on the head.

  • Dude..you have to understand if you did your research, that the US did exactly just that....supply Iran with Nuclear Technology...a joint venture that lasted for 30 years..._50's to late 70's with Iran/ Pakistan called "The Atoms for Peace" program ...if you're play with fire be prepared to get burnt.

  • keep in mind that these 'threats' are mistranslated and given out of context.

  • Yes, what is this misinformation that Ahmadinejad is said to be constantly mentioning the complete destruction of Israel (and that the U.S. is a satanic power which did not come up here) and the dickhead attacking Chomsky in this patronizing tone wheras Chomsky was indeed answering his stupid question? Reminds me of Andrew Sullivan's comment when Chomsky was on Bill Maher's Real Time. If you have something true to say you can say it in a decent tone of voice.

  • There should be a Chomskytube...

  • 13 thumbs up for a great comment. I guess Chomskyan is the closest thing to a chomskytube

  • It sux that one of the most intelligent people in the world is reduced to Youtube instead of being broadcasted on TV everyday, I understand why he's not! In a real democracy it would be hard if not impossible to vote for him in every four years!

  • MIKE GRAVEL FOR PRESIDENT!

  • how awesome is he. am i total geek because chomsky is my hero??

  • Not at all. It just means that your brain is turned on, nothing to worry about.

  • you speak for many of us around the world :)

  • @mykalwhite1 i was just thinking the same exact thing

  • OWNED once again. Neocons tend to always get owned on such debates. Their argument is always an attack on the person, ie, he is too fat, his hair is parted to the left instead of the right, his glasses are too big and other garbage arguments, which have nothing to do with the facts. Everything Chomsky says is documented and factual. We have issues with Iran because they will never bow down and do not co-operate with the big two in sharing their oil revenues PERIOD.

  • The Iranians have this dangerous idea that their oil production and the decision of which currency the oil is sold belongs to them. This was the case in 1953 when the anglo-american "liberators" freed Iran from their democractically elected prime minister and replaced him the autocratic Shah. Like Allende that belieeved chilean copper belonged to chile and not American business or Chavez that thinks venezuelan oil belongs to venezuela and not exxon mobil, the Iranians are dangerous.

  • There is only one country that has been wiped off the map and that country is palestine. The balfour declaration, 1948 occupation and 1967 war wiped palestine off the map. But there is a simple solution called the 242 UN resultion calling for a 2 state settlement with Isael withdrawing from Gazam, west bank and East Jerusalem, all of which are illegally occupied territories against international law. Israel and America oppose this resolution because they prefer expansion to peace.

  • The reporter asks what it means in geopolitical terms if Iran gets a nuclear weapon (which by all accounts they are not seeking)and Chomsky gives him some solutions to the problem. The reporter doesn't want to see a peaceful solution, he wants a sound bite for his editor and so that he can tell his bourgeois friends that he shot down Chomsky.

  • Great analysis on foreign policy.

  • Thank you Chomskyan.

  • By the way the reporter was a biased bigotted faggot.

    Well said Chomsky.

  • Yeah, I agree, fuck that guy...although I'm not going to make any assumptions about his sexual orientation.

  • Did you know that the demographic group that is growing most rapidly is people over a hundred?

So Professor Chomsky, the wold's foremost public intellectual, may be around for awhile longer.

I hope you can bear up in the face of such a dire possibility.

  • what is the deal with iran (persia), why do we have issues with them? Im confused

  • great post! i wish i could debate like chomsky.

  • You can, you only have to read loads and loads and make the right judgements...

  • Who's the guy at 4:20 that seems to think that Mr. Chomsky OWES him a response?! He isn't an elected official who is making policy decisions, asshole. Let him finish and maybe you'll get an answer. Geez, who pissed in HIS cheerios this morning.

  • probably gay, LoL. I could totally see a gay with that kind of tone and brashness.

  • go sit down.

  • very nice video; Chomsky is THE political philosopher of the 21st century
