I've had this scanner since November 2009 and have loved it. The price has come down since I bought mine so it's a tad more affordable now but not by much. Digital scanners are still rather costly but if it does what you want then it's worth it.
I wanted to try the Uniden 996 model but could only afford one scanner right now so I chose the PSR-600, as I've had many prior GRE products. Again, so far I love it but would still love to also own the Uniden 996 just for comparison.
Not much more than an ad for GRE. Probably paid by them. Nice effort but not much else. btw; when a u-tube producer responds like above it's rather juvenile.
Supposed to be a Demo of the scanner, not a music video with only nice close views of the controls of the scanner with annoying music and annoying spinning words
I own one- it's absolutely a piece of junk on VHF analog freqs, but king of the hill with digital. Buyer beware- do some on-line research before buying, if your plan is to use for analog VHF. Get a BC-796D instead.
This scanner is the same as the Pro 197 from Radio Shack, but the Pro 197 does not include the programming cable. $32 extra. I use "psrEDIT" software with this scanner which works good. ***Be careful NOT to hook up the programing cable to the headphone jack, it must be connected to the PC/IF jack only! I accidently hooked my cable to the headphone jack, cable ws damaged and had to be replaced.
Great Vid. Im in STL City Mo. and our city in undergoing the digital change over. Sucks for me as I have to buy new scanners now lol. This looks like the one for me tho. It has the best reviews ive seen. Too bad its 499.99 But hey it should be the standard for many years to come. Anyway great vid take care.
