This movie looks wonderful on DVD.The DVD quality is like normal Blu-Ray quality, so I can hardly think of how good the Blu-Ray quality must be.

Dakota, Terri, and Robert did breathtaking jobs for their characters. I love how Terri used a low, almost raspy whisper for the Beldam.

the tone of the movie was a little sad, dark. i mean the story of 3 unfortunate kids from other eras losing their eyes and lives because of the clingly, controlling "other mother"? and seeing how Coraline's neighbours used to be when they were younger, made me think about my own older family members. i never got to know/see them or be aware of them when they were younger

The book is really short. I read in less than, let's say, 5 hours. It doesn't go into too much detail and Wybie is a character that Henry Selick made for the film so that Coraline can have someone to share her thoughts with.

And yes, it is scary :P In a Neil Gaiman interview, the author said that parents came to him and said: "After reading the book I found myself turning on all lights... You are dangerous, you should be locked away!" :P
