Clearing the balcony was totally justified and actually protected the students. The officers in the street would be put at greater risk by having the individuals over them on the high ground. If one (or more) people threw objects down on the police the response would have been 1000% greater. The students should be thankful the police showed the amount of restraint that they did. Bottom line - the students illegally assembled and were asked to leave !
