Thanks R18SEDAN. The t-case is from Crawlin' Coles on RCCrawler. its actually called Team Raceway Cold Case. Not sure he's made any more but they're great. Delrin case, very small. Uses gears from an Axial transmission. Only about $60.
Yep, its a 1.9 scale rig using a 1:10 scale lexan Range Rover Classic body that I heavily modified to add styrene detail to. Check out my video (search: -8eHrmx2PBA) and you can see it at 3:01 in that video. Its not finished yet and that was a shakedown run.
It has a steel C channel chassis frame I made from 1/2" steel tube. Motor/trans/esc/rx/servo all frame mounted in front. Build thread on scale4x4rc.
light look good is that a lexan shell for a landrover on one of your trucks? going against the grain with this one huh you got any 1.9s for sale and in your opinion whats the best all around set-up
Yeah its lexan but I added enough styrene to it to make up for it, lol. I did the whole front end and tailgate as well as bottom skirts along the entire body in styrene. I couldn't resist a Classic...Not feeling the lexan though.
Generally I dont like 1.9's anymore unless the tires are hybrids. They're all too tall for what I want them to look like. On the right rig a 4.25" tall Rok Lox looks great. Not on most rigs though.
it sounds like your gears maybe to tight together.
The rule of thumb is to use a sticky note and put that between the gears then tighten. :o) hahaha thats what my friend told me and my truck quieted right down. If that is not it it must be the motor. But when you take the motor off and spinn it you can find that out easy enough. :o)
Weird thing is that when it had the slider motor it sounded fine. I reinstalled the stock motor and now it sounds like this. I must have done something wrong or the motor was bad. I bought the MRC used so I don't know.
looks awesome!!
where did you get the T-case?thanks!

Thanks everyone. I think the pinion that was on there is not an MRC one. very similar but not one. Will have to replace it.

Looking sweet. My MRC definatly doesnt sound that loud. Like the others said, something sounds too tight.

Check the clutch and tighten it down... when they "spin" they tend to make some whining noise like your truck is doing

It would be cool if you could figure out a way to out lights in the wheel well like fullscale jeeps do when they go night wheelin

I agree. There are some local guys that do just that and it looks pretty cool!
