To think I had a California CDL 10 years ago, drove for SWIFT for a while and then family things made me want to give it up. . . . .consequently I chose not to renew it when the time came. I did not foresee driving Class A again. I am studying the California CDL book again, viewing your videos too and will probably start a CDL school soon. It was a tense overall test back then (I passed all, no problem), I can not imagine what it will feel like this time? Thanks for being professional!
Thank you very much for this video...there are quiet a few pre-trip inspection videos on youtube but this is by far the best one...the audio is perfect i can hear every word unlike on other videos, you actually show and touch each part which a lot of people in their videos don't do...it helped a lot thank you so much for taking your time and making these videos :-)
man thanks jay im taking heavy equipment class an im planning on getting my CDL this summer an these videos helped me alot in understanding i practice this everyday and my instructor is pleased thanks again you helped so much
great quality, and very cool tats!! I just started Truck Driving Academy beginning of the week and just passed my Class A permit. We are learning pre inspection and this really is helping me!!! You rock and keep the videos coming!!!
Thanks! Very well stated explanations and made easy to understand. One question... The Michigan CDL Manual states that the slack adjuster should not move more than 1 inch where the push rod attaches to it, or it probably needs to be adjusted. Is that because they're manual type (not automatic) slack adjusters? Only reason I ask is that you mentioned 2 inches max for the automatic slack adjusters on your truck.
@gdupuietoday Disclaimer: I am not a heavy equipment repair technician and the information I provide is from what I learned studying for this exam. My understanding of slack adjuster (auto or not) is that they can have an excessive amount of slack or play. Here in california 2 inches or the lever approaching 90 degrees in relationship to the push rod is the maximum allowable amount. Your state may have different rules. Hope that helps.
@gdupuietoday i was told here in california about the slack adjusters is according to how many lines are connected to the brake chamber 1 for 1 2 for 2 inches of play
@sivadanosaj Boss thank u. U did great job,you are explaining very clear and so simple.
now its really hard to find pre trip inspection videos in youtube with good quality. im having my road test soon your video helped me a lot. i dont see your airbreak videos
very informative. best videos ive seen on youtube. but where are the air brake videos?

Sorry, One more comment. A single brake chamber (pod) is one inch, a tandem or double brake chamber is 2". But still, GREAT video and camera work.
