I just read an article about him in Huffington Post that said he rarely reads a script and ad-libs most of his lines.

He just knows the premise of the movie and goes with it. The whole Cinderella Story scene in Caddyshack was ad-lib'd on the spot. Most of his lines in Ghostbusters were improvised.

I went to a party last night where someone told me about this video. I wasn't sure if I should believe them, but here's the proof. Their follow-up to this story/video can only be confirmed by BM himself. The guy claims that Bill walked up behind him in New York one afternoon and put his hands over his eyes. The guy freaks out and darts around. Bill is already walking off in the other direction, saying, "No one will ever believe you." We'll have to wait for the memoirs.
