  • I love this clip. Such amazing playing!

  • Thee is also one guy from Chile, Christian Galvez who plays this style, but I liked your playing even better, it is less nervous.

  • that was amazing

  • vin deisel shreds

  • Very good bass player! And of course, quite handsome. ;)

  • man you shred!!!

  • That was beautiful!

  • i love the way you play... you're such a master of bass! all the feeling and delicious phrasing you do is breathtaking

  • you have mad skillz man !

  • holy f*ck! who do you play with?

    any vids of ensemble work?

    you're really, really sick!!!

  • I just watched this video again. I was blown away again.

    You are truly amazing.

  • nice. Your joy in playing is obvious. Remember that it is that joy--not the "sophistication" of the lines that matters.

  • Amazing! Really had an uplifting mood and a sort of running feel to it. Best I have ever seen in Jazz.

  • ...cool vid... next time are you going to play something other than recycled bebop licks?

  • great playing, but atleast on the melody u should play a bit more with feeling and not to straight

  • buenissimo, buen sonido y ejecucion, da gusto ver esto entre tanta basura que hay en l Youtube, gracias!

  • Great playing, i think you could try to play a little more relax.

  • Hoooo!!!... Israel... All the best for you...

  • Wow!!!... This is wonderfull...

    Where are you from?...

    Greetings from Mexico...

  • No sé de dónde serás pero tocás tremendo. Yo soy un músico argentino y sólo quería felicitarte por tu música!!!

  • It's funny, so many of your videos on YouTube are the same pieces I'm studying from improv class at the moment! :)

  • i think we all just came

  • @BossBassist I believe we did. He owes me a keyboard.

  • אחי אתה מלמד? אם כן אתה חייב להגיד לי איפה!!!1

  • אין מילים... מדהים!!!!!!111

  • i just came

  • I thought that the tapping sounded like a bit of a trill or embellishment in the way that horn players do it.

    Very cool.

    Very nice sounding.

  • Guy,you're amazing! It's a really great sound,really great playing,awesome solo... great! :-) I wish to you to be famous,and popular! :-)

  • Awesome! I wish I could play jazz.

  • beautiful

  • Outstanding!

  • perfect sound!!!!

  • im going to go play some bass now

  • Great Congratulations

  • U r an amazing player! nvm those coments like "bass is supposed to be played in a certain way" or "tapping is not to be used in jazz". ITS YOUR INSTRUMENT AND YOUR SOLO, SO do whatever you want:) peace

  • @ftfrito agreed.

  • Man i love you!, thanks for your wonderful contribution to my musical language.

  • Dude, you're still the man... :)

  • Dude ur great.!!

  • love it,but no tapping please!tapping is not for jazz.i know you can play,so stop proving it!

  • Jazzyyyy! :-)

  • your wrong

  • and your judgement is based on what???????

  • The instrument is designed to play _music_. The cello was origianlly designed to play bass parts, but now is an established solo intstrument. Why not the bass too? Music is music, the instrument is just a tool. We shouldn't be putting instrumentalists in boxes, telling them what roles they ought to serve based on what's been done before. If we do, then music never progresses, and it's regressed enough in the past 20 years as it is. Guys like this need more exposure, IMO. :)

  • look the guy should be able to tap, slap, or fart on his instrument. The greatest thing about music (or "jazz" music) is that theres no racism, social class, or boundaries. A true musician expresses his deepest and most personal emotion through tonality, who are we to tell him that hes right or wrong?

  • You can build a bass with a low E string and a low B string with 5 frets and play it for what it is "intended to". Any instrument can be played in all the variables and ways as possible, not just to what is "normal" or "intended".

    It's my opinion...

Great solo, great playing, very clean. :)

  • wouldn't it be six frets? otherwise i couldn't play a Bflat.

    Meh, who uses Bflat anyways

  • Jajaja, I wasn't calculating, just an example :P

    But nice observation...

  • @TimMcGrath74

So based on a video you would "call"/define him as a "baritone guitar player".

Whether or not this is what the instrument was "intended for", this is what art and the human experience are intended for- pushing our personal limits, exploring our souls, and communicating with an audience.

    He was successful

Maybe you should worry less about defining things and simply *listen*.

  • @paulvienneau I completely agree with you. People forget that this is a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. So, here's a revolutionary concept: Why not create music with it?

  • that tapping was awful but your a great bass player all in all and in every way and i respect you!!

  • Why The Hell Can't You people just appreciate Great Musicianship without the negative tags on the end. This Guy is Great in every way but you fags always have to find something negative to throw in your Commentaries! YOU SOUND GREAT GUY, Fuck these Pussy's!

  • I wasn't trying to offend anybody but it's just so unusual to hear tapping in jazz! He can make it sound great and his playing is GORGEOUS and everything but I just said my opinion, and there shouldn't be anything to say for anybody!

    Peace!

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT

  • and by the way ... you play very well... =D

  • cool

  • So very tasteful and well played. Could've done without the tapping but I guess that's just a matter of opinion :) 5/5 without a doubt!

  • I may be mistaken, but is that a major Pat Metheny influence I hear?

  • I was thinking Alain Caron, but Pat's influence is certianly there. :)

  • Amazing man, playing like that is what I aspire to

  • There certainly won't. *****

  • GREAT

  • way to back up the tapping with a HOT lick immediately thereafter.

  • dude you are serious. is that a ken bsr 6 walnut top? it sounds great but we all know that the tone is really in the hands which means that you have great tone. be easy!!
