It took less than 2 minutes into this to know that the title company, mortgage company and and seller are responsible - plain and simple. Pay up to these shafted buyers. (And there's no need to see the rest of the video either).
WTF? Unless there was a signed rental agreement, they shouldn't have to pay a dime. The lien was the fault of the seller. If he was unhappy about not selling immediately, he could have walked away from the deal, and try to rent it for two months.

So $2K is the max in MA..but in NY, where the show's taped, the max is $3K. And in LA, home of the original, the max was $1500.
So I guess it's a matter of where the lawsuit originated.
