Actually I disagree & have sent a small message explaining why I think that, it's not that you're wrong about it being a celestial globe (I actually own a couple) - but it's not necessarily as simple as it is (a), therefore it can't be (b). :D
Meteor is based on space, celestial objects and the 50th anniversary of manned space flight. Placing the show's influences squarely in the 1960's. (Please let's not fight!)
To be honest, I mostly eluded to a second Galaxy so I could make that Uranus joke (:'D) - but it's not necessarily impossible, just because the first is finger-locked it doesn't mean a 2nd would be... I see the character getting more trustful as the series progresses.
Also, as I do like to make wild speculative guesses... as meteor now has a 70's disco ball (Meteor Driver) and equalizer table (Galaxy), could maybe a rotating (vinyl) disk based lock system be used instead of the finger press?
@KamenDev Meteor has NOTHING to do with disco. Nothing! his belt is a Celestial Globe and and his weapon is a lever-based fingerprint-recognizing punch enhancer
he is based on space and celestial objects like meteors and planets
@krx50 Meteor sorta does have disco music as a secondary motif, considering his all of the sounds on his belt and the Meteor galaxy. *dun dun DUN DUN DUN Limit Break!* etc.
@krx50 Well, I think he's got a 70's them altogether. The "Kung Fu" is straight up imitation of Bruce lee. All the "wata! woooooo" and shouts are characteristic of bruce lee. If you don't believe me, in ep 22 Meteor hits Pegasus with a one-inch-punch. A move popularized by Bruce lee.
Needless to say, most Bruce Lee movies came out in the 70s. Meteor with his shiny clothes, disco-ball belt and music is clearly rocking a 70s theme.
Nice review as always, The Galaxy is a really sleek design and I love that the voice that they've used seems to fit in with the "fighting game"/martial arts movie theme used for Meteor... I can just imagine it shouting "READY-FIGHT!" just before Meteor breaks out his Bruce Lee impression once more.
I wonder if Meteor may be getting a new galaxy for the other wrist with some of the other planets on in the future though? -insert Uranus joke here-
@KamenDev that's doubtful, since he has only one Finger Pointer, and the thing about Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn is that they're the next three planets from the sun after Earth
though at this point it's unknown if Meteor will get a power-up since there don't seem to be any secret sounds in the Meteor Driver, and last year's secondary rider, Birth, never got a true power-up form, since Birth Day was just a pile-on of all his weapons

@TokuFan555 no, if anything, his second motif is Kung Fu, seen in his fighting style and the Kung Fu influenced rythm of his theme, Shooting Star

I always get reminded of Ixa's belt when I see this.

@digirockmon327 I will admit that the gold design around the Finger Mount Panel is quite similar to the design of the IXA Belt
