was the motor already warm or did you drive it somewhere before you started making your video? because i know that u cant redline a vtec car on a cold engine, for vtec to work the motor has to be warmed up enough, however i heard a little vtec kick but im not sure whether it was an intake on high rpms or vtec. was ur motor hot/warm when u started pulling?
@andreynfs The car was warm, and you are right about the vtec not kicking in when cold. In this video it had a simple 2.5 inch intake with K&N filter but if you really want to hear vtec crossover on an H22 the AEM V2 intake or "Whale penis" carbon fiber intake will make it sound really nice and good..This car is long gone and miss it but it was a lot of fun
@form109 I do not, very good car though. I loved every second of it though. It was very reliable and surprisingly fast...No I have an SR20DET swapped Nissan 240 :)
@form109 Yes an S13 coupe to be exact..It doesn't compare anything to it, they are both totally different cars..The prelude will out perform my S13 on the canyon runs but the brute power of my built SR20 motor is just amazing and makes me smile every time I step on it and hit boost :)
@jacobabl87 It was just a muffler from T1 performance of Richardson Tx I believe..All you gotta do is get any catback exhaust you want and add an extra resonator and the raspiness will go away. Thats what I did when I upgraded to a full cat back and it sounded really good
@Billd0 SH has ATTS(Active Torque Transfer System) it's a fancy limited slip differential really, stiffer suspension, all SH's have 5 speed and much more little details like that...in a way it's good if you want a good handling non aspirated car but for turbo it's not as good since ATTS will more than likely stop working and just become dead weight. I loved my SH :( hope it's in good hands
dude if its your first car dont settle for anything trust me i did that when i got my first and i had to replace the tranny once and rebuild twice lol..if you live near texas there are a lot of good stock preludes there that are priced just like any other civic out there
never driven a RSX so cant tell you but seriously you cant decide? go out for a drive and see how many RSX you see, a lot. now look for a 5th gen prelude, you will hardly see one because they are rare now i hope that would make you decide
@Xbox360Player350 I test drove an SH today it is less audible at WOT... I drove one stock today and and you can hear the vtec and medium RPM's and the car really does take off I loved it.... but i think that goes for all vtecs theyre less audible when you floor it
Beautiful car man. I love the sound of the engine. Ive been dying to buy a Prelude SH down here in Miami,Fl but they are SO HARD to find. If you know anywhere where they sell them for a good price let me know. Im able to spend atleast $6000 cash
SH model has ATTS(active torque transfer system), spoiler, different wheels, painted lip kit to match car, courtesy lights on door panels, and they all come manual transmission.
im in the Air Force, been away from it for about 4 months now and havent got any vids out in the twisties to show what an SH is really about but when i drive it again ill post -Amn Borja
no shit it wont come on i think i know that but guess what your still doing damage to your tranny and engine retard keep thinking you know what your talking about because you dont
dude all you need to do is keep up with the maint. and change your oil regularly and you'll be fine quit freakin out, i had this lude for over 3 years almost hittin 100k and runs like new -Amn Borja
so did you get your valves adjusted yet t belt balance belt maybe some cam seals and trust me your almost to the mileage where it will start you will see
yes i adjusted my valves myself its not hard, had my tbelt changed and upgraded to a manual tensioner because auto tensioners fail, cam seals dont need cuz obviously i have no oil leaks and no smoke also had my suspension replaced about a month ago with all original parts and clutch cylinder
dude a lot of ppl say ludes are heavy and the truth is yea but just get on it and you cant even tell, i love my lude and wouldnt trade it for anythin else -Amn Borja
no wonder h22's have oil burnning problems dumb people go out and just rock on them cold get a clue cold engine and drive train equals early wear and tear
hey man nice car and video but i have 1 question.

What kind of exhaust, I have a 01 prelude SH, I'm looking for an exhaust that sounds nice like yours not raspy like some I have heard.

nice lude man :D
I have a 98 silver SH
and to mattboy, yeah it's an SH with the ATTS its most likely heavier than rsx but the prelude is just so much cooooler <3
the rsx is out of production though and will probably be rare like prelude in a few years

You don't drive one so you wouldn't understand. RSX's are so overated
javierborja06 2 years ago
yeah your right but i dont have either but want a lude
mattboy828 2 years ago
It seems like the VTEC switch isn't as audible in Preludes as it is in RSX's. Which is faster BTW? I'm trying to decide between the two.
