  • @PrairieBoy99 you are wrong

  • write me if someone needs a small tour, I live next to Lavra=)

  • Well this was very moving and very spiritual.

  • Because that is the message of Our Lord, right?

  • what is the message of your lord? and Ukraine is a Republic. No lords here

  • Super!

  • Ukrainians=Polowtcy+ Pechenegi +10% Russ/Slavonic

  • =Lachy :)

  • Dobri dehn. This choir is sublime and so beautiful. Thank you very much. sd goh (malaysia)

  • all Slavs are brothers

  • If you limit this statement to slavs, you have missed the point of this piece, brother.

  • This is really beautiful...

    (Thank you)

    -_-

  • Beware to commit the UNFORGIVABLE sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, & the Church which he inspires and gives life to.

  • Why should not the historic, canonical church which has maintained the holy monastery through the centuries continue to do so? Why can't we let this post be about beautiful, inspiring Orthodox worship.

  • There never was a patriarch in Kiev. The holy Eastern Patriarchs granted a patriarchy to the bishop of Moscow.

  • The lords prayer sung in Russian by illegal tenants the Russified Ukrainians in Lavra, a Ukrainian Holy Orthodox sacred site - the tragedy of Russian repression of Ukraine continues

  • THE LORD'S PRAYER... EXCELLENT!!!!!

  • Don't trivialise the facts that Pecherska Lavra's illegal tenants The Russian Orthodox Patriarch must surrender and leave Lavra and other properties stolen from the Holy Orthodox Ukrainian Church. This includes all stolen Ukrainian orthodox icons,artwork and even the Patriach itself which Moscow stole from Kyiv, the centre of Eastern Orthodoxy, not Kiev which is Russian name and trenslates to Kyiv.

  • hetmans1 , so what? I'm just talking about music. If you don't understand this "language" we've got nothing to talk about. I say one more time: pure perfection!!!

    And I don't care who sing it!!! Can't you understan there is something above you're talking about? Music..., harmony... pleasure when you listen... it's so simple..

  • It is all to do with touching the soul,this does.

  • pure perfection

  • Actually, who tried to storm the Lavra & kill its monks by crude arms, until the police forces were willing to reestablish & enforce order?

  • Schön, sehr schön ein Genuss.

  • I just don't understand why were they singing in Augsburg Synagogue. Strange place for Christian Orthodox choir.

    But it was beautiful.

  • Musica Sacra International is a Festival where all major world religions meet in their respective music. All religious places are invited to be open for other religions and their music. Therefore we use Mosques, protestant and catholic churches and also the wonderful Synagogue of Augsburg for our way to biuld peace on earth. Mutual understanding and making music together (5 religions in one concert!) unites people in peace.

  • This is a chor from Ucraina singing in a Synagogue. Ask the choir why they are singing russian (my comment: the composer is russian and why should they only sing in Ucrainian language?). Many choirs of the world sing in other languages! This helps the mutual understanding!

  • They sing in Church Slavonic language as far as I know.

  • Governments kill, such as the atheistic communist government, not the divinely established canonical Church.

  • That's mind's overture...

    C'est une ouverture d'esprit et une forme d'œcuménisme. J'ai chanté S'nami bog et autre Slava vichny bogou dans des églises catholiques et protestantes...

    Cela reste toujours du religieux, vive l'universalisme

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful. Thank you very much.

  • My previous message is addressed to kyivcossacks.

  • Que sea hecha Tu voluntad...

    Puct budet volia tboia..

    Thy will shall be done...

    Is my prayer joined to other belivers thru this excellent interpretation... Amen!

  • out of tone (flat) some voices 01:50 - 01:56

  • nice choir sound, bored music to me, just to me.

  • Maybe you have no sense for tenderness ...

    :)

  • yes I do, I'd say to much; but sometimes I can get anxious and even the most funny or wild event would seem bored to me...

    :)

  • not just you. this really is a boring piece. Otche Nash by Kedrov's son, or even Tchaikovsky, blows this out of the water.

  • Boring or reverant? I find it the latter.

  • It's Church Slavonic, Kiddies!

  • Exactly, Church Slavonic, the one language unifying all Slavic Orthodox people.

  • now stop worrying about hetmanwhatever, he's a troll.

  • russian? there are beautiful ukrainian versions. bleh

  • No that's not Russian... Otche nash, Izhe esi na nebeseh! Da svjatitsja imja Tvoe, da priidet Carstvie Tvoe, da budet volja Tvoja, jako na nebesi i na zemli. Hleb nash nasushchnyj dazhd' nam dnes'; i ostavi nam dolgi nasha, jakozhe i my ostavljaem dolzhnikom nashim; i ne vvedi nas vo iskushenie, no izbavi nas ot lukavago.
  • Russian would be:

    Otche nash, suwij na nebesah!

    da svjatitsja imja Tvoe;

    da priidet Carstvie Tvoe;

    da budet volja Tvoja i na zemle, kak na nebe;

    hleb nash nasushchnyj daj nam na sej den';

    i prosti nam dolgi nashi, kak i my prowaem dolzhnikam nashim;

    i ne vvedi nas v iskushenie, no izbav' nas ot lukavogo

    by the way i know minimum 3 different "ukrainian" Versions... But usual version is the first given here!
