Walter made these remarks in 1998. The 2000 election proved that the media's scientific methods at determining the outcome of an election were not as accurate as he thought.

I actually know Mr.Cronkite (I refer to him that way as to not mix him up with his grandson who I really like) and it's always fun to see him watch the evning news cast. He can get rather frustrated with it. sometimes yelling, "that's not news!" or something to that ilk.
