@doujutsumaster1000 I thought it was pretty simple. They were guardians of both, the Clow Cards and Clow Reed, but when Reed passed away, they remained guardians of the Clow Cards. When Sakura became the new master of the Clow Cards, Kero and Yue basically came with the job. Reed doesn't have other guardians; those two are guardians of Reed's reincarnation which is a big difference.
