  • SUPER SHAOLIN STYLE

  • too bad they never fight anybody

  • i wanne do it 2 but its so f*** hard i love it

  • at 0:25, thats the same move that Darth Maul's stunt double uses in Star Wars Episode one :D

  • Thanks for sharing fun things. Please see my epic 1st videos and donate to good cause if you feel bold and brave enough.

    blesses

    Arek

  • i respect fighters that rather use their fists than guns and knives like pussies

  • @kilkolio whatever kills or gets rid of your attacker works fine for me :( or youd rather die at the hand of an armed thief ?

  • Those kids could kick your ass with a bog brush!

  • i notice they don't have hair on their arms or underarms either...do they shave all that too??

  • So much skills like strenghth, agility, coordination

  • the monks would laugh if they heard the sounds effects

  • 8 to 10 years experience before attempted? I attempt it everyday.

  • @feldeee it says at least 10, but like your post

  • @feldeee You're also most likely not training in the Hunan Province with monks. They take their lessons seriously and would not allow a novice to attempt until he has proven himself in many other aspects for physical and spiritual.

  • This documentary is very interesting and informative, but the punching sound-effects are crap! Not even co-ordinated with the movements. Like, there's a swift punching sound, but no movement at all from the monk, or, just a slow movement . . . bloody ridiculous! Apart from this appalling flaw, the video is excellent!

  • I bet you even if they start eating damn editors will put punching sound effects.

  • @knightdrako LMFAOxD

  • what is it with these terrible punching sound effects??

  • @ben2nd I know it's so annoying. I watched pts 1-2 .. only this does it?? Weird.

  • i want to learn too

  • ang?

  • Why are the blades so flimsy?

  • @Trilliumtrigger they're just that strong? hahah or its for practice........thats my guess

  • @Trilliumtrigger the blades are not real.. they're just for practice :)

  • @visthepygmymarmoset actually what i learned are the blades are real but they are flimsy for more speed and from another thing i watched they are flimsy so that instead of just slicing the blade basically wiggles in deeper giving it a deeper, more effective wound.

  • a thick enough blade, accelerated to sufficient speed will negate the momentum of a bullet.

40 men die before reloading. 400 men die before sharpening.

guns still need bayonets because they by themselves are completely and utterly helpless.

any monkey can point and click.

  • I know doggy-style!

  • I think that all this is amazing but I would very much like to see it in action. I would have a hard time imagining using this in a real fight idk why..

  • @friedneworleans1 Go watch some kung fu movies

  • Those are not sound effects. Those are the sound make by the thin practice blades as it travel through the air.

  • And then the guns were invented.. monk - "i trained at Shaolin, you can't kill me!" Guy with gun- "Oh ya? -bang-" monk- "..."

  • @cinamin45 if you think about it, back then, shaolin kung fu experience was the equivalent of marksmanship with a gun.

  • @AmphibianStudios You call it equivalent? It is real easy to shoot a gun, but it takes balls to use fists.

  • The whooshing sounds cheapen their form practice...

  • very very very super cool

  • im jsut gonna say... fap fap fap fapp fap fap xD LMFAOO who nos what i tryna say?

  • @plzforgiveme987 Mmm reaally annoying, I've got a headache now

  • I didn't even notice the sound effects until people started commenting about it!xD Now that I notice the sound effects it sounds so funny and cheezy Its hard for me to take the movie seriously

  • Come danno fastidio quei rumori aggiunti ad ogni movimento!

  • GOD JESUS these sound effects are ridiculous; I monk will BARELY MOVE and all we'll hear is *FWIPWIPFWIPFWIP~* IT'S THE SAME TWO SOUNDS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

  • @MrColeWest That is EXACTLY what I was just about to comment about. These sound effects.. Maybe a few in good placement are OK, but TWENTY FUCKING MILLION? ALL OVER THE VIDEO? Jesus Christ.

  • @j0xIWsNt true

  • your tiger crane is no match for my snake fang.

  • Lol the sound effects are annoying. This aint some cheesy Kung Fu flick

  • the sound effects are pissing me off...you dont need sound effects to make such an art look more "powerful"

  • omfg those fake sounds make my crazy...why national geographic, why????????

  • OK, kung fu is awesome in general. i'm not trying to put it down, but this imitating the animals is just silly.

  • chuck norris has met his match

  • fffp fp ffp fp ffp fp

  • Do Shaolin monks used ranged weapons like arrows and crossbows? Any projectile weapons at all? I know they refused to use any firearms or weapons with gunpowder.

  • shaolin monks are so tough they can make you kick your own ass

  • i kan imitate a mnkey i kan climp upp in a tree and eat a banana does it mean i master monkey style? (its a joke dont take it seriusly i love shaolin)

  • 为什么他们用低质量的武器吗?废话,垃圾。少林已经变得太浮华。 使用真正的武器,试图移动得那么快。

    好看,无用!

  • yuyu

  • 7:50 fart = speed

  • made in china

  • whenever i think of shaolin monks and their fighting, i think of what tyler durden would think of them not using their skills. Dont get me wrong they could kick my ass, and i have respect for the long intense training they do, its just my opinion :D

  • In the documentary also fail to mention that shao lin has been santuary for those who given up their laymen(sinner) life for as long as it was built, many royalty, prince and even emperor, bad man, good man, poor or rich even politician who lost their love/way of life path become monks in shao lin to learn life, buddhism, salvation, zen, kung fu, love too, why the media always potrait Shao Lin with kung fu -.-?

  • The bearded monk is boss

  • @PupeScissors boss level

  • There should be extensive grappling in Kung-Fu.

  • @pcjudosambo There is grappling in Kung Fu. It's called Chin Na(grabbing and locking) and Shuai Jiao(wrestling). Renzo Gracie even credited Chin Na as the predecessor of Japanese Jujutsu in his book.

  • the "rat" tecnique is very easy to master , simply be a democrat or a lawer and run for office while eating huge quantities of big macs

  • Super cool little doc, But I am sure that those whipping sounds are added in for effect, which is kinda lame.

  • I wished i had started training when i was younger.

  • @CapsLockWarFare there is always your next life my friend

  • The monkey kid is very cute haha. But awesome video, thanks so much for the upload!

  • great training of the mind...

  • dude i love shaolin kung fu i go to shaolin lohan school of kung fu in springfield mo!

  • 5:57 insane kick

  • 4:00 hes a water bender!

  • nice

  • I'm doing the Five style combat technique, it's hard.

  • these monks would be hella krunk dancers, like some step up shit

  • FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP FWAPP

  • @Lancealotbob LOL

  • awesome thanks for posting

  • woahw all there movements must be really strong to make the swish sounds! i think thats awesome..

  • Chuck Norris would beat them all !!

  • its not sound effects. the clothes and weapons are flexible/malleable, which reflects flexibility which is an important aspect for shaolin monks, and also is what makes the sound

  • These woosh and swish sounds are really starting to piss me off.

  • They really thought those silly sound effects impress someone? pffff

  • @atemlos2585 wasnt meant to impress anyone -_-..... and there not sound effects. its the actual sound.

  • damn you national geographic and your overdone sound effects

  • @edgarssprogis Buddhism is more of a school of thought and cultivation focus. Google Richard davidson a neuroscientist who studies monks, those who meditate use insane amount of gamma brain waves (the highest frequency brain waves) which is why they have lightning reflexes and complete control of their bodies.

  • @LegoParkourMan but he is actualy telling the truth!

  • lol...

    just watch the video...

  • why these shaolins Do not participate in UFC or K-1?

  • @MrDragon3100 bechouse america is a racist country

  • @Buzztubah Saying "america is a racist country" is racist in itself.

  • @MrDragon3100 Shaolin Worriers Work there whole life to become a Monk not to show off or win a UFC fight

  • @MrDragon3100

simply their too strong, and its against buddhism, they are perfect martial artists, but its only for self defence, there is no point to show it off.

  • Respect other cultures.. Maybe people keep criticizing 'cause they don't know shit about it

  • Respect for these people

  • sound effects are gay, if you are the editor of this show and youre watching this........sorry but theyre really gay, really

  • that monk at 3:20 looks damn sexy

  • pause at 9:15 ....

  • It hurts my shoulder just watching this shit.

  • the monk with the beard looks bad ass i wouldn't want to piss him off and remember he's a monk it would take a lot to get him pissed off. so he is pissed im sure it ain't gonna be pretty i bet he can rip a mans heart right out his chest

  • the flapping sound effect is annoying...it's drving me mad!

  • What the lol at 8:38 and 9:17

  • Do you know if the monks are born into all the stuff or selected or what?

  • bjj rules

  • where can I find the music?

  • I wish they didn't throw 400 flapping noises into one punch...

  • the sound effects guy sucks who added the sounds when a single person is showing his skills.. so anoying.. Like the real sounds when a group of monks are training..

  • Do they also learn the missionary style? : D

  • damn those sound effects\

  • lol 3:10

    swipe

  • Amazing! i'm loving these vids : )

  • what's with the sound effects?

  • I'm sure the staffs the monks used to fight off pirates were much thicker and heavier than these thin, flexible training sticks.

  • @demoskunk Actually they were wax wood staffs no more than a pound or two.

  • I dunno why.. but seems really offensive when the commentator uses the word "sticks" instead of "staffs"...

  • Kung Fu+ Gun = Invincible

imagine if Rambo also knows Kung-fu. with unlimited-ammo machine gun and his Rocky boxing. he'd be invincible

  • @rax7 Actually the funniest comment ive read on Youtube.

    Ramby would be unstoppable

  • Shaolin martial arts is one of the best.

  • FALCON PUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • these 10 year old boys will kick my ass and im jus 24

  • the sounds fx are pissing me up wtf!

not every shaolin monks movement makes a swish!

  • tru

  • Same sound effect every time too..

  • The sword are so flimsy beacuse in china thay are not allowed to uses quality swords or wepons that threnten there government, that why its so heard to find a good stright sword

  • @ilverking no they are training swords as OldGimlet said;

that said they still are heavy and slightly off balanced

  • @waltinbomb actually the darn do is a flexible sword so that way if it get struck from the side it will not break and they are for slicing not stabing so imagine a cut from a flexible razor.

  • @ilverking the sword is flimsy because that is the style that is used... its lighter and easier to move

  • its a training sword

  • this video makes me wonder what the body and mind is realy cabable of.

  • ALOT!

  • The sound effects are getting annoying..

  • too annoying. (swish swish, swish!)

  • They REALLY over use that sound effect.

  • IKR its so annoying

  • the sword kinda look wobbily are they still lethal?

  • Doesn't mean they can't be sharp

I think they wouldn't hold up well against heavier weapons or armor though

  • I think those are just practice swords...

    COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!

  • Great Documentary - but what's with the sound effects???

  • was thinking the same lol

  • @crazedmaster I know right?! So corny

  • @crazedmaster you mean when they swing the weapons?, its real when they swing the weapons in the start

  • Fantastic viewing. Thank you very much for the upload.

  • I realize this is youtube and the world is full of immature punks but making some of these comments show your true ignorance. Good Luck In Life.

But im not putting up with it. Comments are disabled.

  • wtf is a crane?

  • Comment removed

  • looks like there all anorexic. Put some protein in that diet

  • These guys are vegetarians and are always active. Youll hardly see a fat shaolin monk.

  • or a built one.

  • kung fu only popular in asia...cause in western...u only works out ur tragger finger.

  • stick fight can trace back to the coast of kerala they still use almost same weapons..in Kalripatu ...

  • im loving the vid but the swish, swoop noises are getting a bit old!

  • I was just thinking that, they dident need to add them

  • @badbenjy I know, it makes me feel like I'm watching a bad kung-fu movie from the 80's when in actuality its a very well done documentary.

  • @badbenjy its the actual noise they make

  • @badbenjy It is not noise. Those swish swoop noises you are hearing are clothing reacting from the force of the posture.

  • @MattyTheMole yes, when they punch with their bare arm and there is a swoosh?

  • @MattyTheMole No. You are wrong. That's added sound effect.

  • @MattyTheMole you idiots its sound effec ts added to this v ideo by the maker who is an idiot

  • @badbenjy it's the robes :/ Swift movements of long garments and the sudden connection with a solid force, i this case i presume is the arm/skin which is making the smasking/ swooshing sounds.

Basically, Grab a pillow case, swing it in a widnmill motion with force and then slap it against you skin. See if it making Swish swoop sounds :/

  • @badbenjy at least theyre real sound effects!

  • @badbenjy so fucking annoying.

  • Man I thought this was only in the movies

    I didn't think this was real :o

  • Used sticks to fight Japanese pirates? hmmm... Sounds interesting. 1:20

  • The fighting off of the pirates for many centuries is one reason that when the Japanese finally were able to take over China in WWII that they went nuts and caused such massacres that are regarded as some of the worst things in human history. Because for centuries they had been trying to get into China but the Gung-fu skills of the monks and people were too good. Once they had superior weapons they went nuts on the poor Chinese.

  • fuck japan i hope they all burn in hell.

  • They are Chinese you idiot!!

  • @JediMasterRich This is such BS, the samuari invaded and slaughered the shaolin monks in the past. It is recorded on the walls of the shaolin temple.

  • @chiapettrip I dont think so...cant say for suree but wasnt it China trying to invade japan prior to WW2?!....the Yuan dynasty etc etc

  • I am too a master of the doggy style technique... ;)

  • You must have studied for many years at my temple.

Its practised at least 2 hours a day.

  • nvm...i was referring to the other "doggy-style" pose as a joke... >.>

  • No shit sherlock, so am I. :P

  • Agh... that stance at 3:45 is so hard to hold...

that form the man shows looks incredible.

  • I hate how documentaries about China always pronounce the Chinese words and names so dreadfully. How hard is it to find out the correct pronunciation?

  • so true.

  • it's pretty hard.

  • my favorite style is the monky style, i want to try that one day.

  • if only there was some way to eliminate the annoying sound effects

  • They dont even sync it properly or use the right number of "flicks". Its like a guy was waving a wet towel in front of a microphone

  • ahahaha, so funny and yet most likely true xD

  • you got me concentrating on the sound effects now and they are quite annoying!

  • shaolins wushu looks slopey to me and the truth is there all just goverment trained wushu athlets. they all say budda bless, shave there heads, and do kung fu all day ,then they go home to there wives and eat meat. huge tourist trap. the real skill lies in the universities of china.

  • they all train so hard and they still suck

  • youre retarded and completely ignorant, you doucher.
