i would have, pretty much what we have now but an australian head of state. If the president was to remain a ceremonial position then why should it need to be elected, I would be wary of a referendum that would wont executive powers given to the president
What will Australia gain from its Republic? More respect. A great country with equal status everywhere, and opportunity within it for equal advancement for all. The English dumped Australia in the bin when they joined the EU in 1974. Some "common" wealth!!! No more (or little) trade = no wealth!!
