I would love to try this recipe, but as I'm used to metric weights etc and not totally confident Im using the correct amounts. I have a plastic 'cup' which I think might be in line with USA measurements, it is approx. 240ml/8 fluid oz .... is this the correct cup size? Also, in the video, it looked as though a different size cup/jug was used for the water, can anyone help me out here please? Thanks :)
@neeliesu Im used to metric weights too... I found this link, I cant put it here, but all you have to do is go to wikihow.com and search for 'how to make condensed milk' Its the same recipe, there is just metric weights written next to it :)
Don't drink hot water from the tap !! It's really not good for you !! :( And microwaves shouldnt be used to heat water like that.. (BUT THATS NOT AS BAD AS DRINKING HOT WATER FROM THE TAP!!)
Rubbish. Most kettles boil water faster than a microwave and water from the hot water tap should never be used for consumption as the water passes through copper wire and too much copper is toxic. The end result shown seems thinner than the commercial variety even when taking into account the liquid is warm. I would suggest near boiling milk instead of water, no butter and either less liquid or 50% more sugar/milk powder for a thicker consistency like the commercial stuff
Thank you for this tip. I am new to this powdered milk. It also works just fine as a thickener in homemade yogurt. Yes! BTW: I know this is wierd, but you have the most beautiful hands. And I don't even have a "thing" about hands. Your fingers are long and your movements are graceful. You could also be a hand model!
@lorenzschuerch oh realy. i think u are talking out of your ass, bud!
in Denmark we have around 100 cases a year of Legionnaires' disease. and we have only a total of 5 million people living here? how many are there in all of America? how many cases among poor people go unreported u think?
besides its not only the bacteria that thrive and gets released from pipes in warm water, but also certain metals from the old pipes that gets released when u use the warm tap.
@1971emily I know you wrote this two years ago, but I've finally found someone who knows this too (meaning: you)! My mom always used to say I should use cold water, well, she actually still does. :)
boiling water in your microwave can make it explode when you touch it with say a spoon.

Don't use the hot water tap from your faucet to ingest. Sediment builds up in your hot water heater and can make you sick. Check this out.
