With rwd it woud be much faster from a roll and have a higher trap speed. Yeah it has tt butthe zr1 has nearly 3L more engine and a supercharger. In the 1/4 mile they are pretty much dead even. Around a track the driver could make all the diff in who wins. save your $30k and buy the nissan. Give it minimal mods to beat the zr1 hands down. Save thousands $

first off stock for stock who knows which is faster around nurburgring. The 2011 gtr did it 6 secs slower than the 2012 zr1 which used optional track tires. The 2012 gtr is much improved over the 2011 gtr and the 2013 will have 60hp more than the 2011 (15 more than the 2012). Those improvments plus track tires and i can see the 2013 or even the 2012 gtr easily knocking off 6 secs a lap around a 12 mile track to tie or probably even beat the zr1.

If i had the money i'd sure as hell buy a gtr but idk if the 09 would be the best choice because they had some issues reguarding the launch control and clutch. Maybe it would have been delt with by the previous owner or the dealership. @ridgeline006 The ZR1 is an awesome car, it and the GTR, are the best cars you can get for the money. Regardless of the push rod technology and the floor shifter. Where the corvette lacks, is in manufacturing quality, and material use on the inside.
So if you want to buy a sports car just for speed, smart money will go to either car, but if you want looks and style as well, then you have to spend more money to obtain an exotic.

Rob, if you want a Z06 with the ZR1 brakes and such, they sell them like that now. The Z06 w/Z07 package is pretty much a Z06 with the ZR1 suspension, brakes, carbon fiber etc etc and then you could just supercharge it if you wanted to.

I guess it's just because they're like double the cost of a ZO6, I think about what can be done with the extra money. 10k in a ZO6 would DEADLY and you'd still have 30k left over lol.
Rob, if you're contemplating a ZR1, why not just get a C6 ZO6 and just s/c it yourself ? 700whp won't be too hard and you'll be in it for much less than getting the ZR1 to that level. Of course I love GTR's lol so, i'll vote for a P800 GTR ( or R1K if you're feeling feisty lol ).

@m3rob7 Also, don't forget about TTing the vette. A built block isn't much ( cost ) compared to a built S54. It'll probably take at least a R1k or Alpha 10 GTR ( 60k+ ) to hang with with that vette on mid-high boost ( 6k for the TT kit from uppcos.com ). Still cheaper and way faster than just the acquisition of the ZR1 and GTR. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend along with what do you really want to drive all the time. Good luck with either choice and I await the new vids !
@m3rob7 In that case you should get the 2012 Z06 with the Z07 package, it has awesome handling and with a supercharger you can even make it faster the the 2012 ZR1. You'll smoke anything on the road.
@m3rob7 - Carbon ceramic brakes lack huge amounts of pedal feel. Brake feel is important. Do a big brake (metal not ceramic) upgrade & ur fine. You could buy a used Z06, mod it, & still got loads of cash in pocket over the price of a new ZR1.
Hypothetical thought: Say you dont want a S/C, its easier to turbo a z06 vs the ZR1 (though its built for boost). Isnt half the intake ZR1, the S/C? Technically the Z06 doesnt need anything (low comp pistons ?)

Comparing a RWD car to an AWD car is not valid regardless of tires.
A DCT or PDK transmission will always be faster than a stick shift.
NA motors regardless of displacement cannot compete with modern forced induction motors.

@ridgeline006 The ZR1 is an awesome car, it and the GTR, are the best cars you can get for the money. Regardless of the push rod technology and the floor shifter. Where the corvette lacks, is in manufacturing quality, and material use on the inside.
So if you want to buy a sports car just for speed, smart money will go to either car, but if you want looks and style as well, then you have to spend more money to obtain an exotic.
but props for Chevy on the ZR1, an amazing vehicle!

Rob, if you want a Z06 with the ZR1 brakes and such, they sell them like that now. The Z06 w/Z07 package is pretty much a Z06 with the ZR1 suspension, brakes, carbon fiber etc etc and then you could just supercharge it if you wanted to.

If you drive the ZR1 in england, people will spit on you, it's just too of a bold car. The GTR i find is very popular in the UK (Or atleast around the london area) as it is a sutle (well, sort of) and fast car for a good price.

chevy recently came out with a z06 that has the zr1 aero kit and ceramic breaks, for those who prefer the 7.0L :) its like $30k less than zr1 and would be my choice if I was looking into vettes!! then again GT-R is tempting :)

LOL i'm sure you will !!! From what I hear, the only gripe about the GTR's is the ride comfort while daily driving. Of course it's difficult to have everything in one package ( which is why people have more than one vehicle lol ). I hear you on the key touches for the ZR1 ( magnetic suspension for 1 ). I guess it's just because they're like double the cost of a ZO6, I think about what can be done with the extra money. 10k in a ZO6 would DEADLY and you'd still have 30k left over lol.

Rob, if you're contemplating a ZR1, why not just get a C6 ZO6 and just s/c it yourself ? 700whp won't be too hard and you'll be in it for much less than getting the ZR1 to that level. Of course I love GTR's lol so, i'll vote for a P800 GTR ( or R1K if you're feeling feisty lol ).

@sleepersown See thats the only thing holding me back about a zr1 really is you can just make a z06 faster with less money. But a ZR1 has a lot of different things one being carbon ceramic brakes :) haha but still. Well see my friend just got a Alpha 9 on his GTR so ill probly fall in love with that lol

@m3rob7 Also, don't forget about TTing the vette. A built block isn't much ( cost ) compared to a built S54. It'll probably take at least a R1k or Alpha 10 GTR ( 60k+ ) to hang with with that vette on mid-high boost ( 6k for the TT kit from uppcos.com ). Still cheaper and way faster than just the acquisition of the ZR1 and GTR. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend along with what do you really want to drive all the time. Good luck with either choice and I await the new vids !

@m3rob7 - Carbon ceramic brakes lack huge amounts of pedal feel. Brake feel is important. Do a big brake (metal not ceramic) upgrade & ur fine. You could buy a used Z06, mod it, & still got loads of cash in pocket over the price of a new ZR1.
Hypothetical thought: Say you dont want a S/C, its easier to turbo a z06 vs the ZR1 (though its built for boost). Isnt half the intake ZR1, the S/C? Technically the Z06 doesnt need anything (low comp pistons ?)
