@Cloud797 What is it about the equipment that you would like explained? Oops... Sorry. Maybe I needed to yell that... WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT THAT YOU NEED HELP WITH?!?!?
WELL, THE BRAND OR MODEL OF LIGHTS YOU SET UP, TIPS ON WHERE THEY SHOULD BE PLACED, I DON'T KNOW, SEEMED TO BE MISSING FROM HERE. I'm done fake yelling now, lol.
:) Cool, and sweet to have your kid with you! Also, sweet photos. All around sweet. Good photos at the end without the flash - your ability to get them in natural poses in encouraging. I especially like the composition of the one at 6:39
Hey man, can you help me?? I wanna try outdoor photographing, but i dont find good setups! :( Can you help me ? I use this gear: camera: Canon EOS 1000D Lens 1: EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens 2: AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD macro 1:2 Lens 3: AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Flash 1: Canon Speedlite 430EX II Greetz Patriot
loved your video. I dont have all those xtra flashes to carry around with me, but you gave me a lot of inspiration to go out and play with what i got. a Nikon D5000 18-55mm 55-200mm w/600sb-flash. thank you. ;-)
i love ur tutorial...thanks for making me feel a bit more confident about my own work. i mostly make invitations, annoucements and such, but am trying to concentrate on doing more photography.
Great video and very entertaining! Thank you for putting it out there! Are you using a ND filter to darken the background or are you darkening the background in post? I'm just getting started and trying to figure out how to get the effect you were getting on the train tracks. Again, thank you for sharing!
Great job! --- Love your podcasts and how simple you make it for ANYONE to pick up a camera and start experimenting to achieve desirable results with your tips! =^_^=
@PhotoClassPro Some batteries or even lens hoods that aren't from the mother company can void warranties. It says so in the small print on some products.
@swifttone Actually all flagship Nikons are still made in Japan. Upper Midrange models in Singapore , and low end consumer models with kit lens are made in China .
I just bought a battery grip for my Canon T2i. I have two batteries. One is the Canon OEM Lithium Battery that comes with the camera. And another one is a different brand. The Canon battery has 7.2V and the other one is 7.4V. Do you think these two batteries could come together in the grip? Will it not damage my camera?
I asked this because one of amazon customer said he bought a battery that's 7.4V and it's giving him wrong battery life bars in the cameras LCD.
@criticaltinker It is doubtful that was what was causing the problem, but who knows. I am sorry but this is something better not give you advice on. If it makes you nervous, seek out the cheap batteries on eBay. I had had lots of luck with after market batteries. Or go with another seller on Amazon.
@spartin215 I have... To access all of the podcast, simply go to the website mentioned in the video. Underneath the most recent podcast on the front page, you will see links for all of the episode.
Great tips thanks! Love the podcasts and the forum, you really have helped me understand many things about my camera and the techniques used to get better pictures. Thanks from all the noobs you help!
@marcmarleyrian Explained at time index 6:19, and shown in the video as well. Notice how I went from looking down the track, to using a background potential located extreme right of the frame. The resulting photo shows no railroad track in it as all, but the underside of the converging bridges.
@marcmarleyrian I am not sure what you are referring to. Why not contact me direct instead of going through youtube. SHould be way easier. My personal website with my work and contact info is linked off of the website given in the first part of the video. Youtube won't let me type it here.
Great tips buddy. I learn a lot from this. Im actually gonna go for a euro trip in a week and will shoot a family shoot (not my family) and try to make it as good as possible. and this video helps a lot ;)
bro, nice tips! have a question though.. what if i purposely wanted sun flares to be included in my portrait? how can i use lens flares to my advantage? thanks bro! cool!
@N6600 Not easy to explain via typed text on a YouTube comments box. "How" can you? Well you for sure can, and it is one the tricks I have in my bag. In fact this technique among others, can be found in the many podcasts I already have posted. Remember that THIS was just an excerpt of one of those podcast. Follow the instructions in the video to go find more.
Good job! We have similar processes when shooting outdoors at least. I enjoyed it and the interaction with you and your son. Be well and thanks for sharing.
EXPLAIN THE EQUIPMENT! The rest seems obvious.

What if you don't have lighting, then what type of background would you use? Is a shady day or shady area best without lighting?

@2007omi This is actually directly addressed at time index 7:20 but the short answer is - yes.

I would never risk my camera with cheap after market batteries. Probably just voided your warranty . To much cheap chinese made crap on the market.
erics1959 1 year ago
@erics1959 Certainly your choice. But I can assure you with certainty it will not void your warranty.
