@alloverohio92 Probably because reworking the 1st one would take a lot more effort then 2 and 3. Plus they are not remaking, just tweaking the graphics really. Plus they already made a reimagining or whatever its called of the 1st game a few years ago. That being said I would love the 1st game in HD graphics!

Totally different styles, don't compare. Silent Hill is psychological horror, Amnesia is more based on panic/situation horror. I found the game to be horrifying in two parts; Back Hall Storage & Prison. Silent Hill invokes genuine fear at almost any and every occasion.

Nevertheless both are extremely good games. I was seriously surprised after finishing Amnesia, the story & gameplay left me begging for more. Such a fine masterpiece.

I remember being little, 10 years old, picking up a demo with friends and discovering this masterpiece amongst the other games in the cd,,,,,,god we were pansies playing it, and we had to play it together with the lights on,,,,,,but now, I play it by myself, in the dark, at 2:00 a.m. preferably XD

unlike almost everyone, i didn't play this game being a kid, a played as an adult because of the movie so i became curious about playing the game,and i can say without a doubt that this is one of the scariest games of all time. The music, the story and eventhough the limitation in it's graphics. This limitation makes the game even scarier because you have to imagine some things and the imagination plays with you.

I'd say probably to show things clearer, or unfinished material. I'd say unfinished material because there are two, now scrapped concepts, of Demon Children in the trailer. Some whiny people started crying about their resemblance to children and Team Silent had to go through various concepts. EU version excluded them entirely, replacing them with Clawfingers. Also look at 2:42 they had a different set of textures for the boss fight as well.

Yeah I agree with you. I was 7 years old when I had my first touch with Silent Hill in '98, as I played the demo included with Metal Gear Solid. Was scared shitless and have been on the Otherside ever since.

I feel sorry for people who grow up playing any of these new-gen piece of shit games someone had the balls to entitle Silent Hill. Proves that all good things will end at a time, and that people prefer money over the dignity of their creations.

@BIBLEization Because resident evil set the bar, and created most of the standards Silent hill ran by. Without resident evil, there is a good chance the silent hill, and many other great Survival Horrors of the time would have never existed, and even though both silent hill and resident evil have gone down hill over the years, resident evil is at least still hanging by a thread while silent hill has already fallen into the spiked pits of hell.
