  • Mr. Laughlin, your still a hottie! no to mention TOTOLY A-MAZING. i never knew all this personal stuff about him, only makes him more sexy.

  • Also, let's be PERFECTLY clear about something: like "star trek", the "message of peace" is ALWAYS delivered by a bunch of ass-kicking! HAHAHAHHAHA. Funny how that works. The FACT of the matter is, there are people in this world who ONLY understand violence. I am happy to explain "reality" to them. HAHAHAHA.

  • Birds in the wild die of starvation, as do the big cats. These critters are susceptible to all vitamin-deficiency diseases: cancer, pernicious anemia, night blindness, etc.

  • I love how these talking head newscasters are clueless when he talks about Jung. they change the subject to O.J.

  • Great movies. I have the 35th Anniversary Ultimate Collection. I watch them several times a year.

  • How many Billy Jack movies was their? I know of Born Loser's and Billy Jack and the return and know the western with the samuri sword.

  • A good man.

  • Yeah...Long live Billy Jack. Long live Tom Laughlin. Happy belated b/day. Aug. 10th.

  • Loved the movie "Billy Jack". TC seems like a great guy. I wish him nothing but health and prosperity always.

  • this is an amazing interview didn't realize he was so concerned with domestic violence.

  • I. Just. Go. Ber. SERK !

  • Interesting his comments on OJ

  • I remember this movie back in early 1970's, I know Tom is an actor, but was Billy Jack a real person, anyone ?

  • @varigdc10 I don't believe he was an actual person; maybe an amalgam of different people. Maybe.

  • I love Tom Laughlin. However, the talk-show idiots here are so bad I couldn't watch more than a few minutes of this.

I would have loved to see "Billy Jack" beat the crap out of all 3 of them.

  • @AJJKRRR

You're right about the talk show hosts, especially the woman. she asks Tom how he got picked for the role of Billy Jack, when everyone knows he was the director of the movie so he obviously put himself in the role......DUHHHHH!!!!

  • @AJJKRRR

    I'd sign that petition.

  • need him to take on mexican drug chicken livered drug cartels...enough is enough...quit using the crap people and they will go away...drugs do not make your life better and drags your family into whatever happens to you...its all about money ...WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Id like to see a return of the charcter billy jack, perhaps his new or his sons accidental mission to take on some wife abusing cop in a small southwestern town somewhere

  • Not a smoothly edited movie by any means, but unforgettable.... really played the heart strings of the average person powerless to do anything about injustices. For a moment anyways, Good prevails.

  • Notice how the "White panel" keeps changin the subject when anything racial about Ndns comes up. Same ol shyt, modern setting.

  • @MsSandralyma LOL. Whitey still beating down the red man, huh? every single person I know thinks indian heritage is interesting. I have never heard anyone utter a bad thing about indians in general (modern). yet here you are with that "damn whitey" bs. grow up and learn to spell.

  • @kenfo0 I'm also confused where this person (MsSandralyma) is coming from with the Indian comment. I guess some people see what they want to see in things (either that or they use whatever crutch still works for them) . . .

  • @greenrefrigerator Let me state unequivocally that the treatment of the Indians during the expansion of our Nation is an absolute disgrace, and outweighs the treatment of blacks by a long shot. That being said, over 100 yrs have passed and people can, to some extent, make themselves into what they want to be. If one is proud of their Indian heritage, they should use it to bootstrap their race to greatness, instead of whining about the past. The Chinese were abused, no one's crying for them...

  • @kenfo0 Agree 100% my friend . . . 100%.

  • @kenfo0 Proud of my native heritage. Proud of my German heritage. I had some amazing ancestors on all sides. I'm an 8th Cherokee from my fathers side. My great-great grandfather on my mothers side was an indian fighter. My beard has 3 different colors in it (red, black, and blonde). Lot of history to be proud of. But above all that, I am an American. The world can be grim, but history is nothing but a teacher, and I can only hope we (as a race) have learned our lessons.

  • @nate556 lol. it is "indian", not "native". if you are going by science, NO ONE is "native" to N.A.....everyone came from (insert africa/arabian peninsula/favorite place here). Also, it is funny that no one's ancestor was a shyte-farmer....everyone was a great warrior/king/princess/scholar. No offense intended, just an observation. I am glad you think of yourself as "American"...like T.Roosevelt, I believe there is no room for "hyphenated Americans". Best wishes.

  • @green 1 has a choice of viewpt throughout life. 1 can choose to get up from being knocked down (almost everyone is at some pt), or 1 can lie on the ground crying and demanding the world change, which will not happen. Imagine being attacked by a lion and laying there whining how unfair it is. Fighting beats the alternative. When a minority interacts w/the police, it's easy to complain it's because of race. Why, then is it absurd (and it is) if I cry "I'm being pulled for being white"?

  • What year was this interview and what is this powerful political blockbuster movie he is (was) making?

  • Billy Jack drove a Scout

  • I like Tom Laughlin buy Dolores Taylor was not a very attractive women. In fact she was kinda ugly. Ha!

  • @ortleyman Her face was a bit drawn in true, but her butt in those tight white jeans was "wow"

  • Tom is a very wise man and his movies still have important messages to convey.

  • Who woulda thunk he was a Jungian... ha.

  • Billy Jack helped raise my little brother and myself. He never knew it of course, but he was a hell of a dad!

  • @SOGGYmilktoast amen brother.

he changed my life by his movies.he is a great man.

  • What year?

  • @Dunkleosteus9 1965 was born loser billy jack 1967 return of billy jack 1970 billy jack goes to washington 1972 or 3

  • Kinda funny that Tom now closely resembles the guy he face-kicks in "Billy Jack"!

  • @ChopstickBrando Maybe. But he doesn't behave like him

  • Why didn't he "kick the crap" out of the newscasters (at the end of the show)? I feel cheated!!

  • Batterers can fool anybody. ANYBODY. A-N-Y-B-O-D-Y. Exceptional that Tom and Dolores were so successful and put BACK into society to help other people.

  • Tom Laughlin developed the concept of opening a movie all over the country or in an area simultaneously. Initially movies opened in certain theatures and were "bicycled" to the smaller theatures.......

  • i dont mean to be rude but why do people not know how to spell?????????????

  • @94donnac whare is dis commin froom!

  • this was a pretty kool interview. This guy Tom Laughlin is a very interesting man. The Billi Jack char is pretty kool too.

  • Tom Laughlin made "Billy Jack" for 800k, It made 65 million dollars. He took the lion-share of the profits and actually cut Hollywood out instead of the other way around. An unusual success...

  • Score one for the good guys lol.

  • @okiefilm Kick ass.

  • @okiefilm Wikipedia says he was in the hole for most of the money, but if he made anything, he deserves it. This is an ethical guy with a sincere positive message.

  • @alphakid42 Hey, I loved Billy. Used to wear the jacket, pants, boots and black t. Even bought the hat! Sadly, I couldn't fight for nuts...

  • @gmakepiece very nice. great look.

  • Scared rabbit now..

  • Interesting what Tom had to say about OJ Simpson. Assuming it's true, Simpson must have been a true Jeckle & Hyde. I met him once when he came to Dallas to cover a football game. He couldn't have been nicer.

  • assuming it's true??? did you think Oj was going to beat on a woman in front of you? there is plenty of proof OJ was a thug, a woman beater and a murderer

  • I have no doubt OJ is a wife beater & thug. Just look at his shakedown hotel room armed robbery for which he's now serving time. What was he thinking? Was he on drugs?

Getting back to Tom Laughlin's story re: OJ, I assume it's true only because Tom is capable (as we all are) of embellishing or even lying about an event to make it sound more appealing to his audience.

And yes, you're correct that most criminals try not to commit crimes in front of a bunch of witnesses.

  • Bong Soo Han is the man.

  • God Bless Billy Jack movies. Tom is a man who shoots from the hip, I guess some people don't like someone who tells it like it is.

  • couldn,t you be a lttle litter.ligther. i mean.

  • I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT HE WAS IN SACRAMENTO WHERE I COULD HAVE GONE TO HIS APPERANCE THERE.........I'M VERY CONSERVATIVE, BUT HIS MOVIE BILLY JACK WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE OF ALL-TIME. ALTHOUGH I LEAN MORE TOWARDS THE CONSERVATIVE RIGHT WING (small government, anti killing babies, work for your own dollar & don't expect the government to take care of you mentality), I AGREE WITH A LOT OF WHAT MR. LAUGHLIN HAS SAID....I LIKE THE "INDIAN WAYS" WHEN IT COMES TO SPIRITUALITY & PEACE

  • billy jack is a very good movie, and accurate. i grew up in the south during the 60's with long hair.

  • Tom Laughlin had doubles in the fight scenes. But he was in the scenes also.

  • 19dan99 you wouldnt tell ol tom a fucking thing you blowhard fucking shit talking pussy. FUCK YOU!!!!!!!

  • fuck gw bush and fuck conservatives too bunch of false patriotic liars, it takes more courage to disagree with gov that to blindly support it. God bless America!!!!!!!

  • I wonder does he still know his martial arts.

  • This guy makes a difference each and every day of his life. He along with so many other liberals (and some conservatives) try soooo hard to make this world a better place. What do you make besides smelly farts???

  • Yeah. He's the traitor. Sure. He helped fund the Nazi War machine. -- Wait no... that was George Bush's grandfather. Sorry. I know he must have killed some babies and shit on the constitution. No... Wait. HE'S A FUCKING FILMMAKER. You're a xenophobic COWARD, ANYONE brave enough to ask questions or make a statement about the PROBLEMS in the country you call a traitor. Go back to watching your O'Reily Factor you brainwashed choad.

  • Women Shelters are mostly run by Lesbians who ALSO

sexually abuse other women. But there are NOT even

a shelter for men, except the grave yard. You wanta see a woman batter a man, to to

Gwinn video under my name, WilliamWagener Meanwhile GO Dr. Ron Paul

  • Just where did you carry out this ground breaking research?? Lesbians who abuse other women?? Just another exuse..Heres an idea, If she's good for you, treat her right, chances are shell do the same, if she's bad walk away, anything else Is BS... from her

  • So true William....

I've known a few men-hating carpet-munchers in my time, and they are BRUTAL

They'll beat the living hell out of eachother.

  • Billy Jack may not have been afraid of death but judging from this appearance I know he isn't afraid of pies.

  • When you get to be his age, you'll love them Big Mac's, probably not afraid of Supersizing either.

  • iamthewitness dot com

    the new billy jack

  • i saw that movie in iran 1970. i want to do same. i think ,i am still doing my work in his field.

    thank you tom

we dont have perfect world. but we will do our best.

  • oh and there aren't as many female abusers as there are men ... there are female batterers but the stats don't look like what he's saying.

  • my instructor was an extra/stuntman/henchman in that movie. tom laughlin was having nightly menage a troises with his wife & that young lady that played the rape victim. FYI. also, women abuse men all the time, it's just not always physical. i had an emotionally abusive girlfriend for years. she ruined my subsequent relationship after i finally got away from her

  • I'm sorry that happened to you.

I know that abuse is not gender biased. And, it's more often than not emotional/mental.

  • the thing is, usu. these kinds of things wont ever be truly addressed because the stigma that goes with not being macho. i cant call the cops & say 'yeah, she's really trying to get in my head & i feel helpless because i shouldnt hit a woman although she's encroaching my clearset boundaries & goading me into conflict'. of course that extreme but that definitely the psychology involved

  • I totally understand that stigma. It's why the numbers are so low. I hope and wish men would come to realize that agencies like the one I work for never judge, question or criticize a man calling our hotline. No body, regardless of gender, has to live like that.

  • well, i just made the lucid decision to walk away from now on. i suppose i have my own problems but those issues she had were hers. the thing is, until gender roles & general philosophies change, those statistics will always remain low. like i mentioned before, people like laughlin are not helping...

  • general roles & general philosophies need to change to elicit social change....and, until that happens, violence will always be tolerated in our culture. Very sad, indeed.

  • well consider us more sphisticated & protective. remember the rape laws in some middle eastern countries state that a rape must be witnessed by 5 men & the victim must be married off the bat. in somalia it's rite of passage for a soldier; it puts them all ;in the club'. in bosnia, it was a means of psychological warfare under the guise of ethnic cleansing. i always say this is the best country on the planet but in some ways we really have to start protecting each other

  • We really do have to learn to protect each other and to remember that indifference is more damaging than the violent behavior itself.

  • i concur

  • ...because i have it on very good authority that he himself was a raging philanderer. if he has become a different person now, i commend him. but the reality is that the same psychology that births womanizing is the psychology that breeds misogyny. i guess i fing this a bit phony for him to be on TV lecturing about women's abuse & he abused his own intimate connection with his committed life partner

  • i get what u are saying, there are women who get off on that type goading.however a man is "Weak" if he let's a woman or anyone goad him into violence with just words.

  • 'weak' maybe but as a man, ive been victim to an inordinate amount of verbal abuse from women. in fact, if a dude would have talked the same shit, he'd have a broken jaw for the same thing. you wont ever catch me condoning sexual assault or battery believe me, ive been there. i mean ive had women think theyre hitting every nerve & really trying to get slapped just so i can go to jail. but i think that some of these things need to be redefined.

  • This is an older video, I guess...I work in a shelter, times have changed...we never "kick" someone out because their "time is up". I'd like to see what this batterers program he talks about looks like.

  • Tom Laughlin = Class Act

  • Write this guy in for President. Seriously. The democrats and republicans are all drones for big corporations. Tom Laughlin speaks truth---and his concern for people actually transcends his concern for the all powerful dollar.

  • Ok...I'm calling you out on your Bull Billy Jack.

You PROMISED THIS FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE in 2001.

    Where is it???

Big Daddy - Don't make me come and get you. You've had SIX years. Show us the movie.

    C'mon Billy...YOU get to choose.

Big Daddy - The Billy Jack of the New Millennium

  • when i was a kid i wanted to be BILLY JACK (1970's, when i grew up i worked in a teen shelter helping teens in trouble, so in a way, i became a version of that. He was my hero.

  • very good point!

I saw this on television at night for the very first time. I was just a little too young to experience it in the drive-in or the bigscreen. But it changed my life nevertheless. I think it's the feeling of "what can I do..." that you leave the theater with. More important even, than leaving feeling 10 feet tall. :)

  • Tom Laughlin worked on those Billy Jack movies like mad.

  • Good point Mary....

  • Years ago, I was in a relationship where the more my partner used alcohol/drugs,the more it escalated his insecurities.I wound up in a shelter, which extended my stay to 3 months, but I wound up going back to him out of my own insecurities.

  • Anyone with low self-esteem is like a magnet for the same..they come together out of dependancy, which winds up in chaos, the 'blind leading the blind',so to speak.Even tho I got out of that relationship,I stayed in similar ones until I finally regained my own self-worth.
