Aside from summoning extra zombies with their bile they are also capible of focusing a hoard on one or two survivors.

You can find yourself in a serious clusterfuck if you happen to find yourself isolated from your comrades covered in boomer bile.

Additionally, boomer bile creates a temporary sense of chaos and disorder in the ranks of the survivors.

People do some stupid shit when a boomer vomits on them.
