Thats pretty cool to see the test first hand. I think you did an excellent job! I'm going to get my DL here in TX at the end of the month & i gotta say I have never been great taking tests. I think I waited too long, i'm too antsy now. ^_^
In Ireland you don't have to do the Parallel park in the test. It's a bit crazy when you can swap an Irish License for any EU country given that our test is much easier. The sooner the better they introduce a standard test throughout the EU.
Im lucky guys , its my last chance with poles , they going to change the regulations after feb . so im the last badge , if i screw this up . GOOD LUCK TO ME ! lol
i failed the parking, too. though i usually don't. anyway, they teach us differently, we straighten the wheels when we make a 45 angle, then we steer the wheel all the way to the left. i didn't adjust my landmarks and didn't pay enough attention to how close was the car in front of me to the kerb. ah well, next time with a few extra sessions.
@steveo4983 i did.. You just can't see it clearly on the video.. My dad is taking the video without me knowing.. ;) That's the first rule: Always use your blinker when turning or trying to merge.. ;)
you noe.. you cut it close.. but GREAT JOB.... ima go practice now.. this kinda helped....... and parallel parking is only 15 points, soo even if you messed up its cool, as long as you dont hit any cars
@xkidnapper The law in Texas sucks ass. If you turn too wide, you fail. If you turn too close to the curb, you fail. If you check your mirror but don't look over your shoulder when making a lane change, minus 30 points. If you hit the pole while parallel parking, you fail.
My daughter just had to do that in Michigan. She passed, but is parallel parking really a necessity to getting your drivers license? I don't think so myself.
and btw i live in washington United States! not in UK! im really to PSi sh*t or any other crap about cars, i just know how to use it and if i brake it get a new one! and btw, who knows how to park its VALLET B*tches! LMFAO!
OMFG u guys kidding me? Lol! This is like 2 years ago and of course its my first time, i did wait for the car to pass me before i move on u blind peeps! LMFAO! Its like my noob times! LOL! Thats a funny sh*t right there!!!! Nice comments! LMFAO!
lol in the Uk that wud hav been a fail, becausde u would need to stop if theres any vehicles going pass and procede when uve done all ur safety checks and if road is clear!
Not meaning to pick fault in this demonstration but you would fail this in the UK for dry steering. You should never turn your wheel when the car is not moving or you will damage both the driving mechanism and the tyres.
Apparently these test centres are appearing in the UK aswell so soon all the British learners will have centres where they take their manouvres and then head out onto the public roads for their driving test.
lmfao, you fucking brits. Do we live where you live? No. Stop with the dry steering bullshit. That's the UK. I'm not going to go whine on your videos because you have different policies. If you think about it, with power steering, turning stationary really doesn't cause that much friction if you have the proper PSI in your tires. You just need to complain about America is some way, shape or form.
I struggle to see how you can turn a small bit of advice or even a simple opinion on a bit of driving into an attack on your beloved country.
You will damage your power steering mechanism if you dry steer, and although it seems you dont want to accept it, your tyres will be damaged aswell through dry steering. Thats a fact.
As for having a go at America, Im probably one of the few who really dont give a shit as i know and like a lot of Americans, so go pick on someone else.
You will not destroy you steering mechanism dry steering and it won't damage your TIRES that bad if they're at the right PSI level. I may be American but this isn't my "beloved" country. I have a lot of distaste for it but the British always find a way to nit pick at it. Insignificant shit.
Maybe you should give a shit, this is the only planet we've got.
Besides, how is that advice if he lives in the fucking states? Is he taking his test in the UK? I don't think so.
ok like you obviously dont know much about mechanics this is what power steering is used for turning your wheel!!! it put a realy small amount of stress on the mechanism not far from being enough to damage it. its more advenced technology then you would think with cars that doesnt have power steering well thats another story... but if you keep your power steering fluid a the corect level youll never have any problems i swear
and about the tires i hope you were kiding lol cuz drinving around will damage your tire more then that in fact turning your wheels while you are stationary doesnt damage them at all!!! stop spreding wronf info
Dry steering causes unmeasurable damage to the power steering system, about the equivalent of 100,000 miles of driving. Not much to be concerned with. And as for the tires, it does cause wear to the tires, even if they are at the right PSI. It can cause "tread splitting", otherwise known as the separation of the tread of the tire, but that only happens from excessive dry steer.
In the Uk this is done out on the road, not at the test centre.Parallel parking, reverse round a corner, the three point turn and reversing into a parking space. any two of these manoeuvres are asked in the test. Before you go out on the road, you read the registration plate, pop the bonnet/hood and the examiner asks questions, where you would fill the oil, etc.Once in the car he asks more tell me show me questions before you even get out on the road, not to mention you have to pass a theory before that!
uhmmm..excuse me that video is a year ago. of course i have to be like that to get my liscence. its hard for me before but not now anymore..so philyt??its hard especially when its your first time..i bet you failed yours thats why you view it..
