What I really loved about the raptors in the films was that while the big dinosaurs like the T-Rex could bring a level of thrill and fear, nothing could match the mounting horror and tension of seeing the raptors stalk and move in on their targets. While the T-Rex inspires awe with its sheer size and power, the velociraptors stalking the two kids in the kitchen was by far the most terrifying moment in all the films, more so than the T-Rex poking its head into the tent.

I personally loved the velociraptors in all three movies. I know that they weren't that big in real life, but since they are pretty much "theme park monsters" it's quite possible that they were altered to be bigger for effect, by either Ingen OR the movie makers. I can't wait for the fourth one, and I hope it does get made eventually. It's been in pre-production for WAY too long.

I love Velociraptors. One of my favourite Dinosaur Breeads. I love learning about them. I wonder if it is true about them being able to vocalize. By what I know and read Raptors were very intelligent creatures and they were able to hunt in packs. They would be a fear to behold in a gorup and even by themselves.

obviously a trex would win over an allosaurus, it is generally bigger, has heavier jaws, and larger teeth.

And to fatman, velociraptors are dinosaurs, they're dumb. Dinosaurs brains were small, even though velociraptor was probably one of the smartest, it still had a small brain. Plus, velociraptors have been able to take down things tons of times their size, and considering that the velociraptor lived in a different region than the trex, it probably wouldnt have known better than to attack

To Sparson, I think I would have to agree with fatman, I don't think they would attack. The raptors in real life were probably about as smart as a hawk. . Finally, velociraptor lived millions of years before t rex and in mongolia but it lived alongside tarbosaurus which was similar. But despite all this, it's just that a basic survival instinct of most animals is if you're alone and it's 10 times bigger than you with big teeth, you don't attack it!

You are right, velociraptors wouldn't attack a T-rex, but notice you said "if your alone." Velociraptors were pack hunters and traveled in groups of 3-6 members. If one got lost and encountered a Tarbosaurus, it would probably know better. But as a pack, they could attack. For example, elephants can trample lions, but elephants are some of the lion's favorite meals as long as the lions are in a pack.

the problem with the velociraptors in JP was the fact that they had the size of the raptor right, but the wrong TYPE of raptor. Technically, the raptors seen in JP would have been Utahraptors considering their size, while velociraptors were only around3 feet in height. But, i don't blame JP, because the Utahraptor wasn't discovered until after the first JP was made.
