I also played in a school orchestra, but it was a jazz/funk way orchestra ...

all in all i know how difficult it is to play for youth together that you can hear and say, they play real music and good music.

I wish my orchestra teacher agreed to play this... he says it's not a very good arrangement. I'm in a chamber orchestra..does anyone know where I could get a good arrangement of this for strings only?

I'm not sure why your teacher says it isn't a good arrangement. It sounds fine and it's very playable for a youth orchestra. I'm not sure that a strings only version would have a great deal of impact though. Maybe your teacher could arrange it for you using the Sibelius programme.

Wow, this makes me miss playing with my youth orchestra so much. At the time I didn't enjoy it a lot because of the long rehearsals and it took a lot of my time. But i always loved peforming. I miss it :(. This is great, and this youth orchestra obviously has a lot of great musicians.
