I am what you might call a "doubting thomas" I must see something material to believe in the Bible. And I've seen conference, (not debate) in Turkey of the discovery of Noah's Ark, Mount Sinai (see wikipedia), discovery of chariot wheels in the Red Sea preserved by coral dated to the time of Ramesses ll, and last but not least (you'll love this) the remains of sodom & gomorra.

If you read those articles carefully. you will find that most of these so called scientist's were educated through a church or religious group. and then employed by a church or religious group. its a non science based on superstitions presented in the bible.
Science tells us over and over again tested to the limits that the earth is 4.5 billion years old and possibly older. bible is an epic fail

It is possible what you allege concerning scientists being employed by "churches" as you also point out "in some cases" but I have never heard of anything of the kind. And the cases in which I refer to certainly not. I have mentioned the discovery of Noah's Ark in which was found petrified animal dung, ancient metal braces (for the beams) and red human hair. The Turkish government confirmed this as well as the Japanese laboratory in which samples of the Ark were tested.

Another thing God is so oft accused of is failing to heal a poor dying soul praying for help. We must understand something, God should not be expected to perform anything for a self reliant person lacking in regard for God or even to acknowledge his existence, suddenly turning to him in a time of distress as only a "last resort". Would you hardly expect anything more of your friends or neighbors? I think not. Regardless, we mustn't try to disprove God by his actions.

I have visited the website you've mentioned, but I find the title somewhat disturbing, and I must say a bit "green". As this man obviously does not believe in a supernatural existence, so why then does he pose the question "Why won't God heal amputees" he doesn't even believe in healing of any kind. I know of several accounts of which I could use refuting his "point", only it would not, I imagine, do me any good, so I won't waist my time, all I can say is "It has happened". Seeing is believing.

Its a question to make one think. Did you ever realize that sometimes the body can heal it self. I have friend that had a form of cancer and it went into remission. And it did this without prayer. And there are others who prayed to be healed and then died. Were they missing that ever evolving gene? Or is god playing childish games? Seems odd dont you think? I dont claim to have all the answers. But one day we may.

But if we are to understand these things we can't cherry pick some things out of the Bible to prove a point then discard the rest. I presume we are talking on the assumption that you agree God to be a reality, so let be frank. Evil has the power to perform miracles as well as God does according to scripture. Faith is the substance with witch the healing takes place,the healing has already been provided for us.

Um... No. Christianity is one of the "newest" religions, the oldest ones are Islam, Hinduism, and paganism. Christianity actually took a lot of the pagan holidays and rituals and changed them to fit their needs. So, yeah, look at an "isms" time line in a text book and you'll see that the bible and christianity is a subversion of other religions.

The Bible isn't from any one time era, it has evolved over thousands of years. The "Bible" as we know it today was first published in 1611 by the church of england which contained certain (but by no means all) designated books compiled by the church. The book(s) of Adam & Eve is the oldest book(s) ever recovered & is used in reference, in the books of Moses, namely the Torah, in which he relays the story of creation. But of course, judaism is the first religion to profess only one God.

I grew up in a normal baptist church and you can get quite a mind-fucking just from that - people who grow up in the church and never come to face their doubts in a sense never quite grow up - they remain ignorant, immature, fearmongering, unquestioning. I'm not so sure that I believe Hannah when she said that her mother is a good mom and does not abuse her or the rest of the children. I've studied behavioral science for quite some time and when Dr. Phil asked her - her body language suggested that she was lying. I think Dr. Phil saw it too. I'm not sure I believe these people.
