Not really. The fastest time so far is 55 seconds flat with an Evo 7. If you watch Best Motoring, there is Truenos and Levins that get into the 1.00 range, some getting just under a minute. They only have around 200-250hp.
I know, corollas (ae86) are light, but they arnt that light, i still dont get how they can put up times like that, and how they keep up with 500hp silvias and rx7s in D1
I think the JUN Civic was the first FWD car to break the 1 min barrier, but I could be wrong(Thinking along the lines of Top Fuel) But I know it was a Civic that did it.

They do thats so in case of a crash the tape will hold the plastic cover of the headlight and so shards of plastic and glass won't spill onto the circuit possiblly causing harm to other cars tyres
i wouldnt lable this as "supra drifting" would be better if it said something like JUN Supra Tuskuba Time Attack, either way, great video. i would have thought the supra could atleast break into the 1 minute and under mark, civics are even breaking the one minute mark

It's got too much power for this type of circuit, it oversteers too much, the brakes at times lock up. It does sound amazing though, very brutal.

Corollas are light, very light. In stock trim they are lighter than a Miata, which is already impressive considering they have an extra 2 seats.
