wow man! it sounds complete, deep, and intense (especially in the beginning)! i am a gb fan too and i like composing short songs but they never sound this complete, it always looks like there's sth missing. i been working on the bass line lately but it's still not enough. any advice?? and another thing, is there anywhere where can i download loops and other stuff to fill in??
its good (i can know because i use garageband alot too) but your kinda full of yoruself. "use high quality headphones or speakers". its not some mayor genius piece, its just well fitting and good enoug hfor my standaard imac speakers. + in the animusic drumming, i said you are good, but i hated when you said "it wasnt as good as i wanted it to be".. some people (me for instance) really hate it when good ppl say stuff like that, but i dont think anyone would care lol
I'm sorry if I came across as arrogant. The main reason that I recommended them is because lots of computer speakers don't really push out enough low end to my liking, cause the fullness of GarageBand's instrumens is pretty good. I figured I'd put my $0.02 in to improve the expirience a bit. About the Animusic drumming, idk, I just had it planned out, and messed up in some places, which bothered my OCD self. :D Anyway, thanks for the compliment and critique.
your welcome :) its funny how garageband sounds almost identical to what big names use dont it lol. i usually use it to make hiph op / trance songs but most songs these days probably also use GB. like T.I.'s Top Back (pop horn section and the keys: gsfg/sfgsfg/fs/gul/gul/ku and repeat lol.) its sounds the exact same to me :P in C3 that is
leave dalton alone! he is not full of his self! how would you know becuz you live far away from the United States Of America and you don't know him personally!! Don't judge him because of what he typed in the description. he was just saying it sounde good in hi quality headphones.
Awesome just amazing. i've tryed to make some own music but i'm not "yet" sucessfull as you. Like you prove in this great video keep it up would love to hear more from you.
I've actually redone the entire three pieces, and can't decide if I'm gonna post them together (like this one) or in separate movements on separate webpages. The new ending is the piano part, but then there's a final E2maj7 that gradually fades out with strings.
Yeah that's really true. I have updated this song in GarageBand, y'know, added some parts and tweaked some dynamics, and made some strings parts more prominent, but I don't know if I should upload it or not. I'm leaning towards 'yes', but that would mean that I'd take this one down.
Yeah that's a great idea. I had a thought: instead of 6+ minutes, do you think it'd be better to post each 'movement' of the piece individually, like, on a separate page, or all together like this one.
I had planned on just separating the three movements.
Also, do you have any better ideas of what to put as the video. I don't want anything really time-consuming, but something better than that slideshow would be neater.
I think you did an amazing job on this. Even though (to me) Garageband's sounds (some of them) are a little bland, the piece as a whole was great. I want to see more! Keep it up!
dcmcmehan, your pictures are AMAZING! They really fit your recreation of this music. Ever thought of doing an original piece? After watching and hearing this, I bet ya could....AWESOME job.
This is BRILLIANT! Incredible reproduction....and with the Universe pics? Stunning! Keep using GarageBand. (Send this to the Halo powers that be....they'd be flattered!)

What IS 'GarageBand'?
Is it a program on the computer / easy to use / free?
ekoukano 3 years ago
It's a Mac-only application designed for music composition/voiceovers/soundtracks. It's very cool.
apple (dot) com (slash) garageband

at the end with the piano part, its a bit stabby. calm down that part a little bit and it would be great. other than that this is really good.

separate pages let people comment on specific parts and if you update them, you only have to replace the part that you added to.

does garage band have any string instruments?
John234pwns 3 years ago
I mean not garage band but do you have access to any?
John234pwns 3 years ago
Do you mean like live real-life violins and stuff, or virtual instruments?
dcmcmehan 3 years ago
well either would work
cause the string parts are pretty epic
like the violin solo in halo 1
John234pwns 3 years ago
Yeah that's really true. I have updated this song in GarageBand, y'know, added some parts and tweaked some dynamics, and made some strings parts more prominent, but I don't know if I should upload it or not. I'm leaning towards 'yes', but that would mean that I'd take this one down.

Thats awesome, you wouldn'[t necessarily have to take it down, jsut leave it as a response to this one
John234pwns 3 years ago

hm
well, if you worked out each piece to make them full length instead of just clips, separate pages and a playlist would be great
John234pwns 3 years ago
I had planned on just separating the three movements.
Also, do you have any better ideas of what to put as the video. I don't want anything really time-consuming, but something better than that slideshow would be neater.

gameplay clips perhaps?
John234pwns 3 years ago
so have you made any?
