I know the russians did some fucked up stuff but that is Russian land and when you try to separate yourself, you are asking for it. I feel for the Chechen people, I really do, but these rebels made the problem worse that it would have been. It started because the Chechens tried to expell non-muslims from the area. Chechen is its own nation and they have a right to have their own state. Also, chechnya was an independant country after the breakdown of USSR. and after the first chechen war which they won against russians they sighned a piece treaty with russia. in 1998 the russians blamed chechney gov. for beslan and invaded the country.

@LastJihad1 Learn some history. Beslan was years later. Russian military has killed most rebels including Chechen president effectively winning a 1st War in 1996. When libs in Yeltsin's cabinet decided to ruin it, signed peace treaty and pulled the troops away. Islamists were so happy with that gift and decided to bite a hand not a given finger in 1999 attacking neighbouring Russian states to build an Islamic Emirate. A little retailiation on that was actually the end of 'free Chechnya'
