The enclosures in the Copenhagen zoo for polar bears are fucking pathetic.

The regurlarly find Polar Bears at Svalbard weighing 1400- 1600 pounds. Largest was shot in 1960 and weighed more than 2200 pounds.

dont get your point. 900-1600 pounds is common for males, and females, which are more numerous, weigh typically half of this size, so 450-800 . so saying over 1000 is about right. large but rare specimens should not be considered. there are humans that are 8+ feet tall... but we don't use that as a benchmark for typical humans.

i believe that all creatures in capitivity are lazy, they get everything they need, shelter - food and company without even having to fight for servival, if i was that bear, i would be doing exactly the same thing, sitting around, planning my escape route ;)
