I love the show!!! I realize it's just tv, and darn good tv at that, But Niles making jokes about Roger? Did he forget about his stay at The Shangri-la? LOL!!! And practically depending on Maris's money!!! mmmm!!!!
I know this is just T.V. and I'll watch Frasier till I die but why would they make an episode about Roz being embarrassed about who she dates? She never cared about that in any other boyfriends.A cab driver was one .I don't ever analyze a comedy LOLand I don't know why this bothers me I love this show!!!
I really dislike this episode. I love Frasier but this makes my skin crawl, and kind of taints the show for me. Roz is a despicable snob and Frasier's speech about standards is cringeworthy. Standards? He's a garbage man, not a child molestor. The way Roz reacts when she learns the rare book Roger brought to make her daughter happy is from the dump made me loathe her. She's a radio producer. What about that profession gives her the right to look down on people?
@MrHeslopian We all have certain standards for certain things. She was just blinded by the profession. Presentation is a big thing. She eventually learned to look past it and fell in love with him.

All sitcoms require a problem which the characters must overcome in twenty minutes or so, and Roz, as you say, does overcome it. The message of the episode is that your surface differences don't matter so long as you have a good heart. I guess I just have a knee jerk reaction to perceived snobbery.

The two people below me ALWAYS leave negative comments! I'm confused why they even watch the show since they seem to just hate everything about it! @mshipporox The reason cited later in the episode 'Frasier has Spokane' is that *he* broke up with Roz due to 'lack of heat' in their relationship. Based on how he is portrayed here I can't imagine him being that kind. Seems like a tad hasty way to write off their relationship IMO.
