  • @AlternateNerd I do too, and im only 12. That is how obsessed i am with this movie, and music.

  • I'm only 13 and I know every word to every song...

  • I am sooo obsessed! Now the Phantom is in MY mind!! muahaha

  • my 3 yrs loves this movie sings ever song in it

  • The Phantom is ther and he is 20 yers old

  • It's an Eb6. But i agree totally, genius.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber is so great. i was skipping about youtube and found a bunch of interviews and behind the scenes on snapsnap and he just comes across so great.

  • @righty121 I completely agree. And after a few listens I'm pretty sure Andrew Lloyd Webber took that beggining from Pink Floyds "echoes" at about 20 minutes through the song. Echoes ,I believe was made about 10-15 years before Webber composed the Phantom stuff

  • *is

  • Maybe the movie title is so that you're looking in a mirror, as is a big feature in the movie. That would explain why the mask in on the other side.

  • the last note is E6 , VERY high :) good god Gerard Butler is so damn handsome :D l

  • OMG, WHAT was that last note she sang? O.o

  • @shrillz its called the overdrive note, its got a power level over 9000!! and can break through triple re-enforced plexyglass XD it takes a virgin throat and 4 lifetimes to master. plus a siup of water.

  • Erik's mask is kind of like on the wrong side....

  • @frozendragonfire1

    HAHA! You're right! It is!

    ... fail.

  • @frozendragonfire1 right? on this photo, its on the left but on the rest its on the right:P

  • man this is great!!!!!

but i do wonder why the book isn't sucessful

  • I love this song, who could have thought Gerard Buttler could sing hehe he has an awesome singing voice as does she

  • Really? This is the song for The Phantom of the Opera? I was expecting something more grand and classical for a story so old. The drums, synthesizer and guitar makes it sound like an 80's pop song.

Oh, well. I guess it's not my generation.

  • <3 Gerard Butler<3

  • This movie is one of my favorite! I loved the songs and the story. I sympathized with Phantom. I loved his character. THIS MOVIE IS INDEED A GREAT SUCCESS! :)

  • @Rush1013 Yes we have noticed, did YOU notice the like twenty billion other comments complaining about it (read the comments they have useful info.)

  • OK WHAT THE FUCK!?? This intro and main riff is the same exact riff as Pink Floyds "Echos"! Go look it up! Has no one ever noticed this before???

  • @Rush1013 not at all...

  • @TheStebbinz

You obviously didnt even listen to it, Webber is a fucking thief. "watch?v=0S3fpgrZ9ys"

  • Gerard Butler: GREAT SUCCESS.

  • So its a pink Floyd rip off BIG DEAL, seriously its two different mediums Film and Music I think for the purpose intended this is a great song. Just saying, you people who think its important to b***h about it really get over it.

  • Same theme from pink floyd's echoes. Roger Waters wrote it 16 years before Webber. Both with the same notes and time signatures. ASS

  • my school did phantom for our fall musical and i completely fell in love with it<3 (:

  • Christine's E6 at the end is amazing <3 (:

  • Since I get very few chances to see things on stage, this movie was my only real exposure to the story (aside from all those Sarah Brightman PBS specials in the '90s). I personally thought it was really good, since I had nothing else to judge it by. Some parts didn't work cinematically, but for the most part they did a gorgeous job, especially with the cinematography, sets, and costumes. Emmy Rossum was perfect, and Gerard Butler was epic. Not to mention Minnie Driver was absolutely hilarious.

  • I honestly hate the film and we have to watch it at school but this theme is epic

  • honestly, i love this story rather than the Classical Romeo and Juliet, dont know why, this is Mysterious

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber you thieving bastard. just a poor rip off of pink floyd's echoes

  • GERARD BUTLER, WHY SO HOT?!!?

  • @sasodei1995 haha i know! I couldn't help but be crushed when she didn't end up with him!

  • @Roseygrl93 i was happy. now he's open to fangirls! :D

  • @sasodei1995 Which is SOOOOO a good thing. Only most ppl call us PHANGIRLS. PH not F. Probably B/c of PHantom

  • I love this show. I'm doing it at my school in the spring :) excited and scared at the same time!

  • Theme for my marching bands show this year was phantom of the opera. this was opener. Then wishing you were somehow here again, then nightmare before christmas(lol) then ending it up with music of the night! was amazing<3

  • who seen movie i usually hate operas but love this opera i watched it wit my aunt

  • I have fond memories of this song i was a senior in high school and we played the score for our spring fun concert.

  • I saw this on a flight home...unfortunately I`d been up for 36 hours at the time and kept passing out...goddamned jet-lag. It looked good but I can barely remember it...was the movie good?

  • lol if i were there the phantom would be running from me. Could anyone say hot! droool Gerard ButlerXD

  • I love this movie and I am obsessed with all the music from it :)

  • Six people don't know good music when they hear it...

  • nice job andrew Lloyd webber

  • is it just me that thinks, when he says homage,

it sounds like he's eating the word? :L

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber you freakin' genius!!! YOU BLOW MY MIND

  • Woah

  • I wish I could see this live.

  • everyone think i look like the younger version of the phantom and im like what i don't have an ugly side on my face do i?

  • this song is awesome

  • there was a theme that went like BANAN! DANANANANAAA! what was it called?

  • @ryudragon7 toccata and fugue in d minor by bach if i got your lil tune right :P

  • @prugreous ah yes thanks

  • The movie was alright, but id rather see it on stage any day! I am in love with the stage performance even if i have to go to Europe ill go see it again!!!

  • nice movie but i hate all the lines in the movie cause they're oprah style

  • Just noticed that in this picture his mask is on his left side of his face but in the movie, it's on the right.

  • @monicahappy1

yah i noticed that before and i was like... I got to get some sleep... I'm seeing things!!! lolz

  • Also, the film sort of lacked emotions and focused mor eon the song than the characters. Oh well, at least it was watchable.

  • My main complain about this film is that they made Eric too handsome. I think it sort of ruined his image form the novel. In the novel, he wore a full mask and had the face of a skeleton, and yet, he was charming and romantic.

  • @a45027 Although this is true, alot of people would not watch this movie, BECAUSE of the fact that he was ugly.

  • @CorineCatastrophe Maybe. I'm just thinking what would happen if they saw the one form the 1925 version.

  • Sigh.... the story of this reminds me of a relationship i had with a girl

  • love the move love the music would love to see it on broadway !!!!!

  • One word EPIC! im in love.

  • i really didn't know how good this movie was till i got this song stuck in my head now i absolutely love this movie !!

  • I fucking love this song.

Nightwish did a good job too!

  • I love this movie.if you are a sensitive and emotional person then it can definately touch your heart.

  • @anatariq1

I cry at least like 3 times while watching this movie!!! every time!!!! The first time I was crying my eyes out... still after 20 min of watching it i was still crying... THEY MAKE THE PHANTOM SO0O0O PHANTASTIC... AHH U JUST HAVE TO LOVE HIM!!! I'M OBSESSED!!!

  • When ever I hear the organ part I sometimes think of "Castlevania." I love this song!

  • this movie was a triumph. i'm making a note here: "huge success"!

  • @ishouldplayzelda Portal references were overdone and annoying a week after the game was released.

  • Comment removed

  • @MolikrothYT so your saying this movie wasn't a triumph and that i shouldn't make a note that it was a huge success? so be it :(

  • Comment removed

  • i miss 10th grade were in May 2010 we heard this theme all over school

  • I must admit I don't think Gerard Butler's voice is quite beautiful enough to very well reflect the dissonance between it and his supposedly distorted face, but Christine's actress is a wonderful singer.

  • @DestroyEET its weird now cause ya know tht gerard butler played an extremely buff dude in 300

  • @DestroyEET her name is Emmy Rossum, isn't she terrific?!

  • Hmm, that sounds suspiciously like "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.

  • @Meleth28 That's because it WAS stolen from Echoes...

  • I remember being 8 and being scared silly of this song listining to it now i think this song and the operah are brilliant

  • @emerald1188 of course it means he sing it so well, even better than the old version of this movie ^ _ ^ !

  • I love this song :D

  • @emerald1188 It means that his voice isn't the best for this song. He has a good voice, I just don't think its good for this movie. I feel like he ruined the song.

  • gerard butler is mad sexy!!!!!!

  • I love this song, and Gerard Butler's voice.... *sigh*

  • @emerald1188 Gerard's voice isn't bad, but it's not singing material either. The people working on this movie thought his voice was on the mysterious, & dark level they needed.

  • I went and saw Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesties Royal Theatre in London and although this was the best song, I will always think Gerard Butler is the best Phantom.

  • I actually see Gerard as less of a douche now.

  • Gerard Butler kills this song.

  • @BagelxSpns

In a good way or a bad way?

like he kills this song (meaning he makes it amazing)

    or

he kills it (meaning ughhhhhh he like made this song awfulll...)

  • did anyone else notice that for the cover the phantom's mask is switched to the other side?

  • Uh... I dun like Gerard Butler's singing at all

  • and the girl who plays in the movie. is so beautiful and has a gourgeous voice. yet again AMAZING movie( :

  • amaziiiing:D the movie was spectacular. recomend watching the movie to everyone<3

  • Phantom of the Opera!!! Best musicalever <3

  • Comment removed

  • im crezy for this movie and i love this song :D

  • A couple of people at my school sang this song yesterday at our school. The guy sung with a really dark and husky voice - IMO it fit the song better.

  • They did a awesome job casting this movie... the phantom has such a voice i can get lost in so easily, i can totally see why she cant get away from him, hes so HOTT!! But Raoul is the type of guy i would date and every time the phantom got off stage i loved him more...

  • I love when Christine sings. Its beautiful.

  • were have i heardthis before? oh, yeah!!! Echoes by Pink Floyd... only pink floyd is much much much better

  • LOVE THE ORGAN

    THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • i'm sampling this and turning it into a dirty, trashy electro banger.

  • @TheHevquip you better have the beginning part with the organ :P lol

  • @cocoman2121 that's the best part and what i'm grabbing!

  • This song is great until the pathetic electric guitar solo

  • this is a real neat song :) it has quite a scary vibe

  • best sonq ever...<3

  • Too bad the intro is ripped off note for note from Pink Floyd's Echoes. Check it out, youtube. com/watch?v=h6iwrBlb1Bo, starting at 3:44

  • @Keasbey12 yeah they did try to sue but found out that Pink Floyds song was similar to another song written before theirs...

  • <3 this song and movie!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • we have been watching this movie and i am totally in love with it

  • I would love to do the male voice for my school play

  • leopoldvs it's a marvellous story which shows that the world isn't so bad anymore ^^ i hope you happiness and joy :)

  • At least they kept the original sound and didn't try to modernize it. That can't be said about alot of remakes of 80s productions.

  • It made me sad when Christine kissed Raoul outside in the snow and the Phantom dropped a rose and she didn't even notice.

  • is it actually gerard butler singing?

  • @lozeilou0071 yep

  • Want to try something really cool! Ok heres what i did, i opened up to tabs and started playing the musical version of this and the movie version at the same time to compare them. it's really interesting to see how different yet the same they are

  • wasn't the mask on the right side of his face in the movie? It's on the left side in this poster

  • Hahaha good catch!

Webber's phantom is so aesthetically appealing... I'm not quite sure Leroux (the original author) would quite approve... but it sure does ensure that the supposedly scary and deformed phantom has many fan girls! lol

  • Well, it doesn't show the left part of face. It's in the shadow.

  • nah, it was on the left

  • They switched it for the posters and stuff so the photo whould be balanced and more pleasing to the eye.

  • @0reoK0okeez the revervsed the picture.they do that some times for movies. it actually is on the right side.

  • @0reoK0okeez

The cover picture is seen looking into a mirror.

  • @0reoK0okeez , hmm good point, maybe because she's his other half, and he shows his true side to her. His passion, so he lets the side he usually hides , bare... but only in the poster? thats what I don't get....

  • @0reoK0okeez It's not uncommon for photographers/graphic designers to flip pictures to better suit/compliment the rest of the picture.

  • @0reoK0okeez Mirrored image. They do it a lot for movie covers and posters an what not.

  • I love this song sooo much.

I really like the drums, 80s type of thing

  • Phantom of the Opera is also a Broadway musical.

  • I saw this in band class today :O

  • stunning, beutyfull, fantastic i just love this song so much thanks for the upload

  • the movie is better than the play in my opinion.

  • i love you <3

  • i like her better then the sarah person

  • same with me!!

  • in all honesty, i think nightwish did a far better job of this... check out their version from the 'An End Of An Era' concert... its on youtube, its stunning...

  • @betyoucantreadthis

They did ok with it... "stunning" is a bit of an exaggeration.

  • One of the best song ever! Its enchanting.

  • This song reminds me of some of the music from Castlevania which I love and I love this song and movie.I seen the play at the majestic theatre in manhatten,

(Cant wait for the new 360 Castlevania)

  • Long time ago I had an accident and I lost one eye, so I have to use a patch like a pirate. I've always felt identified with The Phantom of the Opera, specially since I met this gorgeus girl who later became my woman. Alike him, before we met, I used to love her in silence and later she knew how much she ment to me! Thank God she accepted me!

  • you are lucky Phantom!

  • @leopoldvs Sure yah did! ; )

  • And you turned into to be the guy from Valkerie. lol nice story tho.

  • @leopoldvs Has she seen the movie?

  • @Ivan62300 Yes my friend, we saw it together...it's funny but when we're alone, she calls me "Phantom, my Phantom"...I love her so much, I would give my life for her!

  • @Ivan62300 Yes my friend, we saw it together...it's funny but when we're alone she calls me "Phantom, my Phantom"...I love her so much, I would give my life for her!

  • @leopoldvs: I´m happy for you!:-)

  • @KungVanargand Thank you Brother, God bless you!

  • @leopoldvs sorry about your eye dude... :)

  • i only like th beginning, which isn't going to get thumbs up.

  • I like this song.

  • We were shown this movie in school, and holy shit was I surprised how powerful this song is. Awesome.

  • Who are the singers in this song?

This doesn't sound like the version with Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford; so I'm curious.

  • it's the movie version released in 2004; Emmy Rossum (sp) as Christine and Gerald Butler as the Phantom.

  • It is Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum :]

  • one of the most powerful songs ever. the instruments and their voices are powerful. especially Gerald's. perfect Phantom couldnt have found a better one. : )

  • this is the most awsomest song ever in the world listen how high there voices are

  • great song, i love it !!!!

  • I'm in love with this song

  • aren't we all? In the end, the novel was not even a horror book but more of a mystery story and one with a human heart. The ambiguity of the phantom is exactly captured by this song.

  • I just saw this with my family, it was great!

  • nobody stole from anybody.. it's just popular i guess idk

i like the nightwish version also

  • this motherfucker stole it from Pink Floyd

  • I love this song... Really catchy and I can't seem to get it out of my mind. I really loved Phantom of the opera

  • LOve it <3
