  • do you cut the head open after it's dry? or while it's drying?

  • thankyou for this video! I have all the supplies at hand! Can't wait to start ^^

  • I love your accent!

  • lol. you're funny.

  • i can't figure out your accent. where are you from?

  • @KATT718 Sweden ;)

  • do you have to use that clay I've heard other people use sculpey clay, Would that work?

  • @XxHeavensXAnglexX Sculpey clay is not airdrying, you have to bake it in an oven. I have tried it but I never really liked it.

But yes you can use polymer clay (like super sculpey) but you doll might break when strung. Daz clay (paper clay) is (according to me) stronger and better to use than polymer clay. It does not break even if you string it very tight and damage is a lot easier to fix with paper clay.

  • OH MY GOD THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!!!!!! hmm wow you are very great at sculpting bjd faces. very great!. umm what did you use to cut the head perfectly in half? i cannot find the name of it! T.T

  • @gaisensie I used a dremel, a multitool with a cutting disc attached to it. You can use an ordinary saw but that would be harder I suppose.

AND NO, I did not cut it perfectly! >__<'' I drew the line with a pencil where I wanted to cut, then I tried to nail that as good as possible. I had to fix the head and the cap with clay afterwards, otherwise it wouldn't fit as nice. With paper clay, saw accidents are very easy to fix so don't get too nervous :)

  • it seems hard

  • @MegaMissUri Yes and no. Patience is the key.

  • wow i did not know people made bjd iin their own house

  • These guys are using paperclay only because that's what the Japanese used.. lmfao...

  • @sunzoo1 No, I use paper clay mainly because it is very easy to work with, easy to fix and gives you a nice smooth finish if you sand it. I suppose that is why many Japanese doll makers use it as well.

  • @sunzoo1 Actually, if you ever tried using it, for this size kind of sculpts you would know it works perfects and is both moldeable and easy cut, but keeps it's consistency. You sure are easy to call people weaboo and that single comment left you really butthurt

  • @ruddiko actually, I like the stuff. Doesn't change my comment.

  • @sunzoo1 Actually I heard that a lot use air dry clay.

  • @sapphirexwind Indeed. :)

  • Oh wow. All of this sounds like it would be so expensive... Buying the clay, eyes, paint, airbrushes, paintbrushes, tools, the multi-tool... Is this really hard for a 13 year old to do? How can I help my mom save up money? Maybe I could get it for Christmas...

  • @KousAB10 A job honey, moe peoples lawns, i allmost have enough for my first BJD been over 2 years of saving, lol if you want it now you will want it then. <3 GL

  • @KousAB10 Oh and second hand tools, lots of people sell good ones real cheap at garage sales.

  • @KousAB10 Buy some candy and sell them at school. $1 a lollipop. It adds up. Trust me. Mow lawns after school.

  • @sunzoo1

I wish... but my school has vending machines with way more yummy things for a dollar.... :( And in my old school, selling things was against the rules. I don't wanna take any chances. Maybe I can get a job once I turn 14? Can a 14 year old get a job?

  • @KousAB10 Well I was mowing lawns and delivering papers at 12. I lived on a military base in Japan though so maybe the rules are different than in the U.S. I know there were a lot of jobs that weren't available to me due to age.

  • @KousAB10 Hm, I would recommend you to play around with some clay before jumping into a huge project like this.Maybe just try to make a head? You just need some clay and your hands to get the feeling of it.

  • WOOT!

I found that exact brand of clay :D
