That's mostly why a lot of us refer to it as old, because it feels like it's been so long since this type of music was mainstream. It's old for me, because I'm only 21, and this was one of my favorite bands in 4th grade. :)

Notice one of the most prominent lyrics in the song is "I wish the real world would just stop hasseling me." Perhaps the bowling alley represents "the real world"; afterall, what's more mundane than a bowling alley?
