@NailCrazy4U To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. It may not be the best for a lot of close up work. My suggestion is that if you decide to try one of these, be sure to buy it from some place where you can return it if it does not work as you would like. Hi, yes, I would recommend the Flip as a good basic video camcorder. For the money, I think it does a fantastic job.

Thank you for posting this. I want to delve into video and of course start out simple. It's gereat to be able to watch videos people have made before buying the cam. I've watched a few like this that were shot outside with the Flip Video Utra and it seems that if you are not in bright sun and are moving slowly/steadily like you seemed to be you can get nice quality. Is the audio that good ? What I mean is is this audio straight from the camera ?

Thank you for the kind comments. I did add the commentary audio on afterwards. The main reason was that the Flip picks up audio from the front of the camera and there is a lot of city noise picked up in this scene. It might have worked OK. I had to reduce the flip audio in the editing process.
