i kinda thought it might have something to do with early man losing fingers in accidents in farming and such. seeing as how your pointer and middle finger are so involved in daily life. as for left hand, most are right handed, so in a battle with knights one might have there sword hand cut off. but your theory sounds good too. lol.
OMG i luv when that goddess of a face iz all in tha cam ,,, thats why i fell in luv wit u 2 years ago ,,, you got them tru gemini goddess features , i would explain but youll swear im crazy , anyway i luv u an ill alwayz luv u ,,,as far as tha wedding ring thing , personaly dont no nigga deserve you or any other tru goddess in my eyes , an when i say nigga , i mean white nigga ,, black nigga ,, jew nigga , german nigga , etc ,,but i truly luv u smileyousee you are such a dream
but while i ave heard that aswell, my thought is that the reason WHY it is a ring finger is becuase it is the least used/thought about of our fingers, so it is set aside for that purpose
Depending on the century and culture, the finger and hand where the jewelry is worn varies. The ring supposedly became popular around the 16th century, but earlier cultures like the Egyptians wore more elaborate jewelry out of respect to their gods.

You're on a roll eh ;)
I'm pretty sure the ring is worn on the right hand in many parts of the world.
(as wikipedia confirms, interesting read ;)
If you didn't have that finger, well, a wedding band perhaps, or the right hand side.
Or, preferably, you'd still be available ;p
