  • What??? You mean the car doesn't really fly????

  • This ad is kind of miss-leading: Chitty would not need to pay a road tax, nor would any car that would be from the time period Chitty was supposed to be in. All cars built before 1973 are exempt, and since Chitty was built in 1967, paying of road tax is not required, although it wears a badge showing it is exempted.

  • @Army30th it's called artistic "license" silly.....it is tongue in cheek fun fantasy..not supposed to be real...I mean a flying car??

  • if roads werw not so shit i would pay my car tax

  • this was shown in the uk in 2003

  • Ha that is funny!

  • how embrassing! i was the stand in for the little girl in this ad! totally didn't know it was on youtube! i only really saw this ad like once or twice! never really got shown in Australia! jez brings back memories lol :P

  • LAME!!!!!!

  • Ahh I LOVED this commercial when it used to come on

  • At first I thought it was for G.B.

  • the ad was on uk tv most contry have road tax so it doese not rill matter where it is shown

  • a model t ford in london? also they actually used the crel chitty chitty bang bang car neat!

  • The bloody Brits should do what we do in the States - issue validation stickers to put on the license plates!

That way, your "bobbies" can see exactly when a "number plate" expires.

    Anyway, a great commercial!

  • They have stickers with it on the windscreen..

  • In New Jersey, New York and Texas, as well as Washington, DC, they issue validation stickers that are placed on the windshield instead of the plate.

For a short time in the early 2000's, my home state of Pennsylvania issued rear-window stickers for people who live in Philadelphia.

All of those jurisdictions did that because of sticker theft.

Other states issue safety (and sometimes emission, as is the case in Pennsylvania) inspection stickers that are placed on the windshield.

  • Go to KRIS KYER on youtube and see his actual audition for this advert.

  • I love how they admit that they hide the sodding cameras. Barefaced cheek!

  • Taught me something, too. Don't try to fly away in a car before checking for invisible people who clamp a wheel to the ground.

  • lol its taught me that too

  • well its taught me a lesson i'll never forget... dont try to fly away to avoid car taxes
