Hi, I just had a question and thought you would be a good person to ask about. After a mom has a litter, how long does the baby(s) have to stay with the mom for milk till they can survive on their own. My teacher let me watch her mice and they gave birth and she said i could keep the babbys but i don't know how long they need to be with their mother before i return the mom back to her. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

@J0Boa You should get a cage 10 times bigger than that, you should get care fresh which is a very good bedding, and many SMALL water bottles because they are small animals, so that your mice will be HAPPY AND HEALTHY for your snakes.

ive had about 13 cages all with 4 females to 1 male..,... and its been about 3-4 months and i dont have any babies or pregoo mice yet....HELP!!!!!

@cdlabelsideilive Do 2 females per one male. Your cages need to be at room temperature and there needs to be plenty of bedding and food as well as a day /night cycle. Either way you should have had some mice by now, so check if your really have males and females.

If you want the female to have babies every three to four weeks, then leave the males in. otherwise, yes the males do need to come out BEFORE the babies are born or the female will get pregnant again straight away.

My mice are having babies so tomarrow we will remove the father so he cant get the mom pregnant again once she has them. Then once the babies are old enough we will put all the boys with the father and leave the girls with there mother. This way they cant breed all over the place. Once we have all the mice in their places im not going to breed again, cause im keeping them for pets so if i breed them again it would be too many. I cant wait!!!

initialy how many mices you put in this type of cage for a breeding?after the birth do you separate the male from the mother and new borns?

I started with 6 females and 1 male in this box. in about 3 weeks the newborn babyes were ready to be fed-off to the snakes.Now I leave about 15 females and 5 malesin the box in order to have feeders at all times. Be careful because mice breed like crazy and you can find yourself quickly overwhelmed with mice LOL.
