One more thing, if you get to the point where you have to put login and password for Mobilterminal and it didnt work then try thins Go to mobile terminal type in 1. login 2. root 3. Password:alpine 4. Enter DownBB 6.Wait and confirm yes After is down your iPhone will restart. please put the capital on (D) for Down and then (BB) Capital always for this three letters. IMPORTANT--** There's a few other ways to tell if you're on bootloader 5.8, however it's a hassle so just try out the baseband downgrade and if it doesn't downgrade then you know you have the newer locked bootloader 5.9.

hey great video i did the process it kepted timing out and retrying it did it a total of 10 times i do have the 02.30.03 firmware and it didnt change the phone to 2.28 after the terminal process was done it did restart but nothing any suggestions i bought the phone in 2008

If the iPhone was bought after mid sep. 2008 it will not work.The only chance for now to unlock is with Rebel Unlocking SIM which works 100% because i tried it personally and that's the only one i recommend for now.You can get a Rebel SIM on eBay for $10-20.You have to turn OFF 3G & Data Roaming in order to work. You made this video and a couple of days later (Cydia) comes up with a shortcut.I use Rebel to unlock my iPhones 2.2.1 with 2.30.03 BBand.I tried this new method to 10 iPhones and none worked because they were manufactured after SEP. 08 and i tried it on my iPhone which i purchased on July 21 and it worked but i didn't need to unlock because i have ATT but i tried it anyway. Just go to Cydia and try one thing ONLY ! 3G Baseband Downgrade .That's all you need.Download that and then you should see an APP with an unlocked LOCK on it that says 3GBBD and then press that and it will downgrade your baseband ! You don't have to go through all this headique this guy shows you here.But if your iPhone was manufactured after Sep. 08 it will not work which means you must have a 5.8 bootloader.But at least try it . Hey man that website only unlocks 2.2 with Yellowsnow and it's Bullshit from my own opinion because they charge for something that's supposed to be free.If you have 2.2.1 Fware and 2.30.03 the only way to unlock is with Rebel Turbo SIM and that's the best one because i tried a couple and so far Rebel looks like it's doing the best job.You can get one on eBay for $8-20.I bought 6 of them at 50% off and they all work awesome. I went through all the steps and ran DownBB with no change. It must be my bootloader, unfortunently I cannot seem to get my phone and computer to connect through WinSCP to check.
